That's interesting about the roughnecks and stacked rigs, but I would not say Chesapeake is in BIG trouble. The stock is up 50% since the Summer. The layoff is viewed as a positive to cut costs and make the company lean. The former CEO had a reputation for waste, the new CEO seems to be positioning them for the long haul or making their assets more attractive for a buyout. Also keep an eye on the nat gas price. It has been slowly moving up and there are a few companies that should get approval to export more LNG in the next 2 months.

I've heard the new CEO is wanting to concentrate on nat gas and he's pulling out of the oil plays. Seems like a big gamble to me but I would be real happy if nat gas came back up and stabilized. I could go work at him instead of traveling everywhere.

They are keeping their oil trucks busy in NW Oklahoma, so don't see them pulling out of there anytime soon.
