If I ever buy new it will be the way I go. Being I just became an owner/op my first truck to me is an 06 w900b. My star a few years back was the best all around truck IMO

I own a 2008 Western Star 4900EX with the 82" Stratosphere sleeper, very similar to the one 217flatbedr talked about. I love my Star and wouldn't think of buying something else. I have the EPA07 Detroit and scored a deal on mine as nobody wanted that truck...lol... EGR/DOC/DPF, only issues I've had were, replaced EGR cooler, chased some phantoms until I learned to carefully look over wire harnesses, replaced main engine harness and carefully added extra wire tires, making sure to secure all wires from vibration/chafing... Have to replace the Turbo Boost Pressure Sensor every 12-14 mos or so, and have to replace the EGR valve every year it seems like, but otherwise it's been great.

I've looked at some new ones, and the price is up there....Jenkins wanted to start the negotiation at 163k for their new one, which is spec'd less than mine, while offering 40k for mine as trade...lol... it was a short conversation.... They can keep their truck, I'm happy with mine, it only has 60k on the odo..lol...

I may have been born at night, but it sure wasn't last night...lol...

And if the salesman re-contacts me, I'm the one with the leverage...lol...that 163 is going to need to come down somewhere around 140, and my 40 trade value is going to need to be around 55...

I don't care if he calls me back either.

I'm also thinking about selling mine and buying a used 2010 with a DD15, but the numbers gotta be right, or I'll just sit tight.

    My 08 is great.

Carb certified till 2024,or something like that??

If I still have the same truck 5 years from now, I'm ok with that.
