Then don't let them become a doctor. For the first 20yrs of their career (10 yrs of schooling and then 10 yrs of hospital work) they will be working 120hrs a week and 48hr shifts at a time. My cousin is a doctor and had to put in crazier hours than any truck driver for many years. His residency was hell he said.

 

Don't let them be lawyers either, well criminal law anyway. A rookie truck driver at a decent company makes more than a rookie PD or Prosecutor. Add in student loan debt from 4 years BA and 3 years for the JD, all for $40k per year to start.

At the 84 diner in Beacon NY. Have a 3,200 lb load 4' high on the deck: going to lagaurdia airport (crane onto roof) @ the delta terminal for 11pm tonite.
Got my certificate of operating authority about 2 hours ago. I'm excited.

 

Got my load hauled from west of the cities back home.

I have to go back for a reload at 2:00. I was informed its going out somewhere by Grand Island, NE and I have to be out there for an unload first thing in the morning. I'm not thrilled about it but oh well.

Mine too. I plan on working till the 22nd this month then take the holiday week off. Then back at it till the 20th of dec and take off about 3 weeks

 

Parked alongside a snowy highway in Wyoming. Wanted to make Sheridan but alas 12 miles short and the e-log said I had 1 minute remaining on my 70 so here I be for the night.

 

I'm stuck in Houston for the next couple days. They forgot to send an integral part of this reel so we have to wait on FedEx before any work can even begin on respooling. I need to go find something productive to do tomorrow besides looking at trailers, I almost traded my little 55 ton trailking on a 65 ton Fontaine 2+3+2 east coast legal trailer but I couldn't make myself pull the trigger maybe tomorrow.
