picked up a trailer at the Bestbuy in Dinuba and ran it to Vernon, DM told me to head back to Dinuba since they have a bunch of mt's for me to get so I stopped in Tulare at the Loves which is less than 30miles from Bestbuy and will get another in the morning. This loves was just about full even at 1700 and a ton of trucks parked on the street too, I bobtailed into a spot I saw trucks skipping so works for me.
I bought a portable oven almost 2 weeks ago and finally tried it out just now since I got some burritos from Walmart yesterday, it works pretty well but takes like 30minutes to cook and only gets to 280 degrees. Its at least 1 more cooking method for me to use.
Good night from...

I use a lunchbox oven as well.
It's said to get to 300 degrees.
It takes 2-4 hours to cook a medium-big baked potato, so I need to start it well in advance of stopping for the day.
Worth it though. I love baked potatoes.
I'll stop at a Walmart on the way to grab a whole roasted chicken and some vegies. The vegies take around an hour to steam in the oven, so they get put in as soon as I stop.
Walmart also has some cheap frozen salmon. 4 pieces (about 2 pounds) for $5.
I've had them stay fresh in my Coleman cooler for nearly a week after thawing, as they are vacuum packed.
I also cook rice in it. White rice is simpler and quicker, but Rice-a-Roni is a nice change of pace. It just takes a bit more time to melt the butter and brown it before adding the water.Wolfyinc Thanks this. -
Two questions: Does Swift go to Canada? And are you folks pulling any hazmat loads? Searched here, googled it, and can't seem to find an answer. Thanks.

moose I have the actual oven not the lunch box mine looks like this one
thanks for the ideas about rice and salmon
Right yes swift goes to Canada and hauls hazmatRightCoast Thanks this. -
I don't go out of the country, period.
I also don't do hazmat anymore.
I dropped the hm when I transferred my license to MN.
Too much cost and trouble, for not enough gain.
The last straw was the last HM load I took.
I was told to take it and I would be told what to do with it soon.
I was due for home time, after 9 weeks out.
I was under the impression that it would be t-called so I could get home. That was not the case.
I ended up delivering the load to SoCal, and had to put off my home time for over 2 weeks more - because no one wanted to take a HM load as a t-call.
3 terminals that I passed along the way, and no one would help. It was always... pass the buck.
And for the cost of the HM endorsement vs. the number of loads that I have had in the last 3 years, and the extra hassle involved with each load - it is not worth it to me to keep it.RightCoast and dptrucker Thank this. -
big reason why I have not even bothered, if I got my hazmat I wouldnt want to use it with Swift...
RightCoast Thanks this. -
I have it and it has helped me. Got me out if areas when it might be the only load around and no one else has it. They can sit while I roll
RightCoast Thanks this. -
This is what I was thinking. Pulling hazmat has never been on my list of favorite things but a load is a load. Same with Canada. I hate dealing with the border crossing but if it keeps me moving so be it.

As far as Canada, you normally not forced to go in there. Lots if times you will drop at a yard clues to there. We have lots of drivers that are dedicated for canada
