  3. When I did EVO I & II I took three duffel bags (Large Gym Bags), my sleeping bag, pillow and laptop in a laptop bag. I am 5’ 8” and kept my bags at the foot of my bunk. The top bunk in a Freightliner is about the same size as the racks were in the Navy, so the size didn’t bother me. Two of the three trainers let me have a cubby in the truck too. I kept food in it. The first two trainers I had took food in the truck. My second had an inverter with a microwave, so we could eat anywhere. The last one didn’t as much and ate out much more. I spent about $300 while on his truck just for food. He knew where all the good places to eat were all over the east coast that a truck could get too. I had people in orientation with me that had more bags that I did and some had less. It worked out ok for me. Once I got my own truck, I loaded that baby up on my first trip home. Lol

    Good luck

Your gear will live on your bunk when you're not in one of the seats, then it will shift (if necessary) to a seat when you go to bed. Items that you'll need to ask your Trainer about are things like food that wants refrigeration, shelf space for personal items, water jug, etc.

But for the most part, if you can fit it on your bunk along with yourself, you're golden. :)

Thanks Pedy6pak and Mommakay. The 2 dufflebags I plan on using will have everything from clothes (10-11 days), underwear, scocks, shower kit, shave kit, t-shirts,clip board, flashlight, and all the other stuff that was on the packing list that I got from Roehl. So I'll have two bags a coat and a quilt on my bunk. I am not sure if I will bring my laptop along during evo 1, but I hope to be better prepared and better packe for evo 2. Once again thanks for the replies and I'll be off for orientation/training on March the 12th. I hope I am blessed to have a great trainer.

Don't forget sheets and a pillow case. Otherwise, you sound all set. Good luck to you, Driver! :)

Doing well. There are five of us, three of which are Honor Program and one more trying to switch to it. We are all going National Van Fleet. Classes are running from 7:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Saturday with an hour lunch break at Noon. The classroom material is simple, and truth be told, the driving isn't rocket science either; just pay attention to the instructors. It's warming up out and turning the range into nothing but mud, so make sure you have clothes and shoes you don't mind getting dirty. The Old Dutch is, well, interesting. It's cozy, don't get me wrong, but it looks like a scene from a 70's adult movie. I'm pretty sure the guy in the corner apartment is dealing dope too, but he hasn't bothered any of us. Marshfield is nice, as are the people who call it home. All in all, this is turning into a great experience.
