I drive for them currently, the tarp lift test IS with a rolled steel tarp. You lift it on your shoulder, carry it around to the side of the deck and roll it on the trailer, then pull yourself up on the trailer with out help, the lift the tarp to the top of the coil, (NOTE:get the tarp 3/4 the way up the coil and then push it up the rest of the way, the coil was taller than me), the walk around the coil (3 points of contact) pull the tarp down from the coil, roll it to the edge of the trailer, walk to the rear of the trailer and get off, then walk over where you left the tarp and roll it on your shoulder and carry it to the start point and drop it.
TMC is all about you being careful and efficient. Don't walk on the grass and be respectful while your their doing the right thing at the right time and you will not have an issue.

The tarp is 120 lbs!!! Its a lumber tarp, not a steal tarp. Just did the test today. They have a steal tarp in the fitness room at the hotel and thats about 80 to 90 lbs. I got through the whole test but due to my hight it was a bit of a struggle to get the tarp up on the coil. Needless to say the physical therapist didnt clear me so I'm on a bus home

I'm 5'5... am I screwed? Also does anyone know the exact or approximate deck height from ground to deck?

Alot of guys use these companies for their first year experience so they can get something local or what ever else they want. So thats why turnover is so high. Then factore in those that decide they dont like it, or what ever.

Last night I went out an picked up two 60lb sand bags (tube-sand) and will weigh them for accuracy and start practicing with them. I figure they are about the closest thing I can get to a tarp to practice with. I'll secure them together and start tossing them around. hopefully in the couple of months between now and when I'm ready yto go I'll have it down or atleast a head start.
