cummins M11 ck engine lites come on & the motor shuts off ?

    At random the yellow and red engine lites come on and about the fifth flash the motor turns off . Oil is full and water temp switch is by passed. Any help ???

    I had it unplugged and 2 gymclips inserted into it with rubberized tape on it. Still think it could be it the sending unit?

    Why do you have it bypassed?

    I'm not sure what you mean by gymclip? But if that is just straight wired that doesn't work. You have to have the proper resistor in between them to fool the ECM. A coolant temp sensor is a thermistor.

    Could be injector solenoid fuel shut off solenoid, cam sensor,oil pressure sensor/temp those are both behind the accessory drive could be short in the harness need to hook up a computer and see what the fault is

    why not to read fault codes to be sure why engine protection was acuated???? really!

    Yeah if it doesnt have the "right" reading from the temp sensor it will default and shut down, btw what type of oil do you use and when is the last time you changed it?
