nothing yet. I was on a load going to California, and preplanned a load back to Illinois... we don't have a terminal anywhere near there, so I'll have to wait till I get to Illinois which is still a few days away

I mena, i found this out the hard way, and have had backing retraining when i was a new driver, but its my fault....and shouldn't happen. Did backing training help? Probably not, but the key is to punish the dirver so they are more carefull. I mean anyone can back in a yard setting with perfect spots with bright yellow paint. Backign training should really include backing in a pilot size spot with thin rows and other traffic.

I worked for a big carrier and was parked and a fellow same company driver backed into a spot next to me, took my mirror off and dug his trailer in the side of my door before I could get up and blast the horn. Seen him a month later at another terminal, ask him about what they did about it, he said he went thru a one day training deal and that was it.

Also, if this was on private property, no police report, between carriers insurance. It will go on Dac but not DMV MVR. No police report then you have a clean MVR which is the big key for a local job. Also if your company was like my old company they charge for employment verification. My last couple local driving companies that hired me didn't bother with employment verification thru them cause they knew they charged to get it. foodservice and LTL jobs don't look at Dac. Dac is used by Otr companies mostly.

DAC / Hireright is a paid service used by high turn over carriers. I never saw it in 20 odd years of pvt fleet service because they don't have the problems normally associated with a DAC carrier, common carrier. Their higher wages and stricter requirements easily cull the trash long before it gets anywhere near the seat.

A true sign of a good carrier is a waiting list of quality drivers. ( I don't need to name names do I ? ) Another sign is health insurance from day 1 to day 30 max and then of course the wage package.

Most don't ever advertise either. All they need do is tell the current drivers they need drivers and they get all they need.

If you have good performance at USA, they won't fire you. You are probably going to Vandalia to talk with one of the safety guys, and back between two trailers and you'll get a write up. That's about it. Policy is THREE NON-PREVENTABLE ACCIDENTS IN A THREE YEAR PERIOD and you get canned. Incidents/accidents at USA are All considered accidents. Tickets have the same three in thre year time period policy. It's in the handbook, look it up
