If you have access to shop air that is the very best way to find leaks, put a #10 fitting in the line from the compressor, let the preasure come up untill it unloads and with a spray bottle of soapy water look for external leaks. Block the tires and check the maxi's. remove the hose to the intake and check the unloaders, Fixing air leaks is a slow process, check every plug, and fitting, if the air is coming out of the rear brake relay, it is usually the maxi' seal leaking. If the preasure guage is going down then it is not the dryer or govenor that works off the wet tank and has no guage.
Just a thought!
air dyer purging every 10s

Could not find an air leak. The small line going from governor/dryer to the compressor unloader, that's the signal to cut off the compressor, right? So wouldn't there have to be constant pressure once the dryer purges to keep the compressor from pumping? All I get is a little burst at the same time that dryer purges. Idk if that was ez to follow, lol.
Maybe the dryer Itself is bad??? -
Its sitting at idle doing it with either brakes applied or not. And it only loses air at the same time it purges.

There is a small check valve in one of the ports with an spring small plastic peice and a o-ring. The o-ring is wore out or missing. all airdryers have this valve. Just can't tell you where. I think it is in the input of dryer behind the fitting. It has a small snap ring that holds it in the port. I am sure this is your problem.

Had this a couple times if all else is ok its the unloader in the compresser head bout the size of a quarter on top has two small screws to hold it down has a plunger, spring and a piston in there O-rings to last one I bought was about 35.00 make sure you clean it up good with brake clean and use the grease that it comes with hope this helps .

I will check for the check valve on the dryer. Maybe somebody has put the wrong cartridge on it? Could that cause this problem? And as for the unloader in compressor, ive alreadyvchanged it. Thanks all for your replies!

No it is this check value find it and it will stop.

when I had the same problem, I had to chase air leaks. the air governor was trying to keep up with the loss of air. mine was a bad leak at the fan clutch, though the key had to be in the on position to show leaks.

What kind of dryer is it ad ip or ad sp. Or is it ad is. Does the filter screw on or does it have the bolt going threw the bottom up to hold filter on. I can tell you what dryer is on it by the way it's designed if you don't know what type of dryer it is.

It has the screw on cartridge, but no "cover" over the cartridge.
