Had an incident in Texas where a super single blowout did some damage to 3 4whlrs following too close in the no zone. Texas DPS was summoned to the scene by one of the owners/drivers involved. No accident report was made or given to me by the officers, nor was I cited for anything. One of the 4 whlrs was towed from the scene and the other 2 drove away. Had the blowout fixed and drove away myself... Interestingly enough, a few months passed and found myself applying to a different company and listed no accidents on my app. Company pulls my PSP and you guessed it... a preventable accident is listed with the notation showing my truck had to be towed from the scene. Completely incorrect information for the incident... IMO, a blow out does not constitute an accident, much less preventable. Tires were close to new caps and shown as such on my pretrips. Anyone else had a similar situation and what would it take to have corrections made? Thanks, Drivers in advance...

Did you get a DOT roadside inspection as part of the process? If so, you were given an inspection report that listed everything on it, including that accident and that your truck had to be towed. You should have used the Data-Q process to dispute the findings.i You can still do this, but the points will reduce by 1/3rd each year, dropping completely after the 3rd year.
Something's not adding up here. -
No inspection was done on scene other than a look at what was left of the tire... in point of fact, there was no accident. The 4 whlrs couldn't avoid the gator when it left the truck. I did not hit anyone or anything... Got a link for Data-Q? I'll follow it up. Just discovered all this recently.

you must contact the ones (dept) who showed up and get report of what was done. send the $ to get report and keep it forever. use it whenever asked about.
RonnieStevenson Thanks this. -
Copy that... Texas screwed the pooch bigtime... and quite possibly, me in the process.

If a roadside inspection was not done (you would have been asked to sign an inspection report), then this would not show up on your PSP. If an inspection report was filed without an inspection being performed, then the officer may have some 'splainin to do. When you file a Data-Q, it is sent to the officer that performed the inspection for review.

might be worth looking at fmcsa.dot.gov
look for your carrier, then look for the date of accident. see what it says on there. it'll also have any csa points you may have gained.
that information is totally free for you.RonnieStevenson Thanks this. -
you will have to go thru the company that put the preventable on your psp. i am a situation myself on my psp. i have a preventable but it wasn't my fault. i was coming thru pa in one of those small towns. the way out i had to go thru down town. they have cars parked on either side and 2 lane traffic. i had to stop because a car was parked badly and if i didn't stop i would have hit the back end of car because it was sticking out in street. i put my turn signal on the way i was going. after the traffic cleared. i started going around that car and a suburban come around me in apposing lane traffic. and his mirror come in contact with my fender. i was in 6th gear wasn't going that fast. when i finally found a place to pull over. this driver say i scraped his truck from front fender to back quarter panel. he say i messed up his rim. the scratches on his truck look like it came from branches or something. then his rim look like he had been scraping curb. the police didn't give me a ticket or make a report. i got his info and he got company info. if i hit his truck like he say i did it would have had dents and everything else with me being in 6th gear. i called it in and the person taking report say he couldn't understand me bad connection. i called back 10min later the same person say that the owner of suburban already called and hung up on me. they sent a letter to my house wanting my side. and it had to be received by certain date. and wouldn't you know i didn't get home for 3weekends and it was pass the date on letter and it got charged as preventable. and it wasn't my fault no where. that guy was impatient i was moving too slow. i called company told them about letter and the date. i reminded them i was out 3weekends straight. they said i could send paper in but it was already charged to me. i chunked paper in garbage she basically told me no matter what i said it was already charged to me. that pissed me off really bad.

Accidents don't have to have an inspection to show on PSP. All it needs is an accident report involving a CMV to be entered by the reporting agency. If you want a copy of it you have to request(most times pay)for it.
PSP report does not show who was at fault or if it was preventable or not. Accident report does. -
This is why drivers need to pull up their MVR, Dac, and PSP,
at least twice a year.
Keeping things accurate, and up to date, will pay off for the driver.
The sooner errors, or incorrect items are noticed,
the sooner they can be corrected.
Good Luck in getting this straightened out. We have found Texas to be fair when dealing with them.
