Ponypack does too. Trust me I gotta have AC as much as heat. If it wasn't all working I wouldn't be buying it.

After looking up this Pony Pack, I've gotta say if I was going to buy one, this would be it too, for one simple reason—easily available parts. Just about everything on this unit that could possibly fail, can probably be purchased at ANY automotive parts store in ANY small town. Now that's the way to design things!

As for the system leaking down and having no A/C at all, that's really not the reason APU's came into existance anyway—as a redundant unit. This one ties into the existing systems which also means another added benefit... no cutting holes in the truck body or interior panels to install it—a definite bonus.

I'd have to agree with Brickman here—this one looks like a winner.

That argument doesn't hold water for the reason lil stated. APUs were not designed as a back up system.

How many million trucks are on the road today with NO APU that run the risk of springing a leak and being with out AC????????????????????

This is also the reason they don't have a nation wide dealer network. They don't really need one. But this is some thing that is costing them a lot of sales when it comes to the big trucking companies that want nation wide service.

Well that one fell thru today. So much for a plan.

I think now I'm going to get a home equity loan and go that way. Nothing down, and the cheapest interest of any body.

I run a RigMaster on my truck. The only hole that is cut is the one for the ac/heater hose. The unit is hooked into the truck fuel line and the batteries. It has an auto-start feature,re-charges your batteries when running, runs your block/fuel tank heater, and many other features.A little louder than most, but I heard they have a new exhaust system that makes them quieter. You can get either a Perkins or Cat engine. You can get all your parts at most any autoparts store, some at Wal-mart,and various other places. They run about $7100 installed, and if you belong to OOIDA,you can get a $300 discount. They have financing plus it's also in the EPAs' Smartway program,so you can probably get a big reimbursment.

The Smartway program isn't that great. I checked into several of their lenders.
