The point is not to explain the individual citations, but the problem is in the number of citations. Every ticket anyone has ever received comes complete with a story, but the fact is that with that many citations, for differing things, you are going to be very hard pressed to find a suitable job. And without some changes in your behavior, and your level of responsibiity, you are going to run into big problems keeping that job when (and if) you find it.
Companies look for indicators of a drivers or any other employees potentia behavior, and if all they have to go upon is your driving record and the tickets you have gotten, regardless of any explanation, they will probably not hire you. You will never get in the door to tell the stories and make the explanations, regardless of how valid they might be.
As for the funning around, if there is nothing else that can be done with a thread, it tends to happen. Your story strained the credibility level, and the gang retreated into humor. It happens sometimes.
who will hire me now?

falc, if you know you're a good driver and a dependable employee, don't listen to these people. these people that try to act like they're perfect "never broken a law," never exceeded 55 MPH going down hill - give me a freakin' break!
and why would you take advice from a canadian anyway? their trucks have square tires and canada's not even a real country. just keep a positive attitude and keep beating the bushes for a better trucking gig. attitude will benefit you a lot more than not bumping into some (goofball) shipper's fence. -
I agree with Cybergal....maybe a career change is in order and like she said not everyone is cut out for driving trucks....I have been otr for a year and I can truly say...I obey the laws in every state...have a clean CDL and I want it to stay that way....its going to be hard for you to get another driving job as a company driver...when they see your record they will know you will be too much of a liability for them....good luck on your search!

HA!! how do you figure we are the ignorant ones? I counted 12 violations because that is what you posted. I've ben at this 13 years. I have never had a ticket or an accident in a truck, no seat belt tickets and no dot violations that were my fault. No log book fines, do speeding on a downgrade... Oh and if we are talking about a downgrade that is large enough to have a break check on it and you were speeding then you are an even bigger idiot. You'r not supposed to speed up to pas someone, you are to move over and let them out then get back in behind them. You are to go slower if need be on a hill not speed. That's exactly the type of behavior we expect from swift. We know you weren't trained well enough, none of the swift nubes are, that's why the FBI are raiding the swift schools. That's why we know you shouldn't be on the road. I think the government should make all the swift cdl graduates retest if you ask me. I'm been almost run over by one of your fine employees chaining up my truck and 20 minutes later the guy in front of me DID get run over by another fine swift driver. And then he kept on driving. So I'm sorry if I don't hold much respect for any of ya. I would be very apprehensive hiring a swift driver who quit to get a different job, I would NEVER hire one that was fired. That's why I say you likely won't find another job. That and the industry is really tightening up on there hiring standards since the freight is slow. This is what Swift does when freight slows down, they have SO MANY bad drivers it's never hard to find a group that need to be fired to keep the books looking good. Had freight not been slow you probably wouldn't have been fired, that's the scary part.

I'll lay it out for you, take off your socks and shoes so you can count on your fingers and toes:
- log violations , and
- one preventable accident.
- seatbelt in texas
- parking on a on-ramp in virginia
- obedienc to safety traffic corridor devices in pennsylvania
- exceeding maximum speed limit 69 mph downhill in california
- cited for trailer with no visual inspection
- not showing my medical card
- log book wasnt current
- invalid placard showing
- 50 in a 45 on downgrade in california
You should have expected it, really. did you think you were going to get flowers and chocolates?
Yep, different citations in different states, most drivers get maybe 1 per year...or LESS.
So what? You are a "professional" now. You SHOULD know the rules and regulations. OR, tell the judge that no one ever taught you, and see what HE says.
It's a poor workman who blames his tools.
Not at all, you should have pre-planned your run and stopped BEFORE you ran out of hours, even as much as an hour-and-a-half BEFORE if necessary.
More excuses.... No real "reasons" though
Small or large, you broke-it, you BOUGHT it.
We don't have to "know you" personally, many of us have met you (others just like you) many times. -
quit blowing smoke up his skirt

If you want to work again you need to apply at small truck operations which are much more likely to have limited recruiting budgets so they will take more time to listen to your story. Get a copy of your DAC so you know what is on it and never stop applying. Good luck.

no small outfits will take him with less than a year. Most of them want two.

Join the military to be a truck driver, You already have the CDL. Serve your country for 4 yrs as a driver and come out with 5 yrs experience last 4 no violations. The Army may even let you join for 2 or 3. The USMC stopped that a while back.

But they wont let him drive a truck in Iraq or Afghanistan...they use contractors for that.
