In 12/2009 I was involved in a very small car accident(My car was not even touched). Long story short I got into a fight with this guy, I hit him 1 time in the side. For some stupid reason I left and pulled into a apartment complex parking lot. I freaked out and was there really to gather my thoughts, and figure things out.

Anyway cops show up and beat my ### like Roadny King.

Im charged with 1 aggravated battery for hitting the guy. Then 5 battery on law enforcement officer(1 for every cop that was on secen). Those 6 are Felonies.

Then the bs misterminners are trespassing, criminal mischief, & battery on LEO.

To top it off they put leaving the sene of an accident as a misterminier charge and not on my driving record.

I planned to beat most of the charges then sue, but 9.5 months in( 2 days before trial) they offered me a deal. Take the charges and you go home. I didn't want to play with my freedom so I signed the deal 9/2010.

Just got my cdl a 11/7/2013. Have had over 20 companies say NO. Is there a companie out there that will give me a chance???

Any info is help full. Im 34 years old never in trouble before that.

If i was you i wouldn't even waste my time getting a cdl or think about driving truck unless you have money to buy your own truck if you think about driving for a company that ain't gonna happen until 10 years from the incident good luck.

Not the answer you were looking for, but they offered a deal right before your trial? Sounds like they knew they didn't have a case.

Pretty crappy situation. hope things work out for you. Funny how we label people felon, send them to jail, and then expect them to be angels when they get out.. except they can't work(a job that will even come close to a wage that could support a person), or do much else.

I wish you the best (provided you're telling the truth and stuff)

Don't believe I'm familiar with Mister Minier. Was he at the accident scene? :biggrin_2554:

have u tried/ thought about getting your record sealed/expunged. go down to court and ask for paper work if it can be done a lawyer will cost u a few pennies. that way it will not show while you are seeking employment because u can check no.

Take Chinatowns advice and check out those places.....but be ready for another no answer. Companies look at assault convictions and see folks that aren't capable of controlling their tempers in a stressful situation. And...trucking has lots of those. they don't want to get sued "if" you "FREAK-OUT" again and hit somebody else. With this kind of problem in your history they see someone that doesn't "play well with others" I'm not trying to throw you under the bus , just being honest about what happens in the real world and getting you ready for what is more than likely coming. (hopefully I'm wrong)..... Good Luck , don't give -up.
