So I will give a recap soon. Been so busy havn't had time.
On run from york PA to Auburn ME . Will be home thursday night... -
So 2 weeks in and I am super happy with my choice. Orientation was great and I learned a ton. There were 4 of us and we were all super nervous and rusty. The laid back atmosphere made it real easy to just absorb a lot of info in a real short time... I think they are looking at work ethic and attitude as much as driving skill... I was there to learn and still am. Wed was all day in the yard on there road course Thurs was more practice and testing. Fri was paper work and finding out training assignments.
I left with my trainer on Sat. This is were the rubber meets the road long days and building endurance. You will be exhausted but I have gotten better everyday. Home to spend time with the wife and boy now. I'm glad I needed a recharge.
As far as HOW is for a company I love it and am really happy with my choice. Like others have said before me they are not perfect but that small company feel and the way you are treated is important to me.
So next is another 2 or 3 weeks out with trainer then back to Wolding for final classes and test out for 4 days. (mon - thurs) This week I drove about a thousand miles and bumped a couple docks. Second dock I was tired and had driven 500 miles so it took a little work and some bad language but I made it. Picked up a beer load at Sam Adams and was a little intimidated really busy place so I let my trainer do that... Next week I'll be doing the majority of the driving and paper work. I'll try to update as a FYI for us newbies.
Hope I haven't rambled to much. God blessWeeble Kneeble, bchawkins7 and crazw Thank this. -
Biggy, I know you have a lot to pay attention to, but try your best to remember the shippers & receivers you go to in training. How you got there, parking, rules, their hours, etc. You'll be glad you did when you're turned lose on your own.
Northeast is rough and those minor details are huge!Biggy D Thanks this. -
My trainer writes down every place he goes on index cards and keeps them in alphabetical order... I am picking some up and writing every thing I do down as well as picking through and writing down some of his frequently visited ones... Any other suggestions would be awesome thanks...

Hey Biggy D, I want to thank you for your postings. I am about 2-3 weeks till testing and HOW is were I want to be. So all the posts you do greatly help. Keep it coming and stay safe.

To Rochester NY. Best day so far 498 miles. Shifting is vastly improved
From last week lots of practice going up and down hills in the north east.
Crazy windy here last night I feel like I slept on a sail boat...
