    Sorry your exp with kb was'nt a pleasant one Ace trucker.Hope you leaving kb is a blessing in disguise and your next company treats you with respect.I drive for kb been there going on 2 yrs.I like them but then again im not an OTR driver either.

    Good one,lol.The pay is'nt the greatest.Probably better then what OTR pays though because I don't sit.Mine is all drop and hook.KB does pay $950.00 a week for certain drivers but there are strings attached.Even though I drive for kb,tyson pays me.

    I used to work for KB, and I had a positive experience with them, I got my weekly guarantee, but most of the time I was able to get the miles I needed, I ran a mix of both night and day driving, I got home every other week for 2.5 days, and all I did was send in my hometime request and that was it.
    My truck had 22,000 on it when I got in it, but it ran good, had no problems with the refrigerator or my APU, didn't have a lot of problems with my dispatcher or planner. It is a good place to work, but it may not be a good fit for everyone, but then no company is.

    I recently started driving for k&b it has been a total nightmare. These guys are a scam. Here are my complaints:
    1. Ross, a station manager, likes to belittle others during orientation. He tends to be snide and doesn't seem to answer simple questions without making the questioner feel stupid.
    2. The dispatchers get to decide when a driver must stop and where a driver must sleep. They do all the trip planning.
    3. K&B doesn't listen to the drivers. I've been given a load that I told them wouldn't make it on time. Sure enough I was late by 30 minutes. Just as I said there plan would make me.
    4. The 2nd, 3rd & weekend shift dispatchers are real disrespectful to the drivers. They refuse to help any driver and when they do help...they talk down to you. Then when you complain.... they just say 'that's how trucking goes'. They are very disrespectful.
    5. They haven't mailed me my check stubs in the whole time I've worked there.
    6. They give you the wrong appointment timed to either make you early or late by an average of 8 to 12 hours. As a driver you are not allowed to call the consignee to confirm your appointment time.
    7. They don't get you home on time. They count the day you actually drove, delivered and then finally went home as a day off. Even if you get home late.
    8. You are required to spend your 10 hour break at shippers and consignee. Far away from places to eat and any restrooms.
    9. You are required to check in, check out during your sleeper birth.
    STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM K&B AS POSSIBLE. THEY ARE CROOKS AND EVERY WEEK I HAVE MET ATLEAST 3 DRIVERS THAT HAVE LEFT THE COMPANY.
    I know they have other tricks up there sleeve. But maybe its time the DOT heard about some of these complaints.

    I REFUSE TO LOSE THIS BATTLE.

    #6 and #8 is typical with any company in the meat business. They want you rested ready to run as soon as the load comes out to keep the product as fresh as possible. They don't have the convenience of a warehouse. A chicken or any animal will go down the assembly line or should I say dis-assembly line :) and might end up in 6 trailers. Only when that trailer gets full is it released. It's kind of hard to say that trailer will be done at such and such a time when 10,000 chickens are going all over the docks. That's why they come up with windows. I've hauled a full load of pig tails before to Baton Rouge. Do you know how many pig tails it takes to fill a trailer? :)

    A meat hauler has a fridge, microwave and TV. He can sit in the desert and be happy. You don't need the convenience of a truck stop when you are prepared.

    If you ever haul Tyson the company gets fined $400 if the load is late. That tends to make a company scared. There are drivers out there that don't care if they are late or not. Once a meat hauling company gets to know you and knows you are dependable then the babysitting stops. But starting out everyone gets the close watchful eye.

    The paycheck stub thing I would call their payroll dept and demand it. They might have the wrong address? If not contact the DOL and find out your options.

    Drivers have to find their niche in the industry. Some hate one type hauling and love another. I think it's time to try a different division.
