Moose, if I were you, I would look at a different route, like 80 all the way to the Youngstown area and then south on 11. If this is the Wal-Mart that I remember, it is up in the hills, actually Wintersville, over on the PA line almost.

I thought there was an 's' in it. I was too lazy to check when the spellcheck kicked in.
That's the one.
Thing is, Swift has been routing me to avoid toll roads. They'll send me on a route that is 100 miles longer, and 3 hours slower, to avoid a few tolls. Even though I end up using much more fuel from all the stop-n-go. (I think)
And they couldn't care less that it takes me hours longer in drive time, and hours less in break time.
I thought the same thing for the route, as it would cut the time. But I'm not sure if I can get cleared for that route.
And if Swift wants to send me a slower way, I'll just Mac22 it with that reason and deliver the next morning.
But, I'll call my DM in the morning and see if I can take a faster way. He is usually pretty good about it - unlike night and weekend people. -
night and weekend people are just receptionist to take calls in my opinion, they are a joke and not worth a crap. Once in awhile I will get a decent one at night but not often.
Today i fought traffic all day long even at 20:30 I had stop and go traffic.
Got a trailer in Adelanto and delivered in Vernon then shot down to Otay Mesa and got a new trailer to take back to the UPS yard in Ontario, left Otay Mesa with 6 hours left of drive time and my plan was to drop the trailer and head back and shut down there ready for another trailer in the morning....nope that drive took all but 1.5 hours of time left so im sitting in Fontana for the night.
I get frustrated sometimes since when I have a lazy day I get 2 trailers done in 6-8 hours, when I try to bust my butt to make some extra money then that day decides to be my horrible traffic day and I still get 2 trailers but 10 hours of time. Maybe I should just stick with lazy days with less stress lolMoosetek13 Thanks this. -

I find that I do just as well whether I am trying to bust butt or simply go with the flow and take it easy.
I prefer the easy way. -
yeah im either going to just take it easy or start running at night since I know this drop yard is 24/7, will talk to my DM about it in the morning. I know he prefers us driving while he is working just so he handles everything and we dont need to contact anyone else in the office when he is gone. Seems half the time when its after hours none of them even comprehend what im doing and just ask stupid questions making the situation frustrating instead of just doing something I need like a fuel opened up.
"your not dispatched for a load why do you need fuel?" uggh just do it, I try to explain I dont always have active dispatches depending on the hours im running. -
pilot t/s in fernley nv. dropped the walmart load in sparks and headed over to the terminal to scan paperworks. got a load that picks up here in fernley at 0300 tomorrow morning and delivers in commerce ca anytime b4 1430 tomorrow. decided to run here and fuel and take my ten here since i'm getting up so early. forecast is possible rain showers after midnite and snow level drops to 5500 ft. hopefully i can miss it lol.took my ten in bridgeport ca last nite and woke up to 17 degrees. guy at shell said it was -5 last week

Rogerville/Springfield, MO. I whole whopping 7.1mpg with the winds today, and that was even mt miles.

I finally got loaded this morning, and my 524 paid miler turns out to be 585 miles via U.S 30 - or 650 miles taking I80 and I77.
No way to drive 650 miles in a single shift - or 585 miles if you get caught in accident traffic and hit every red light known to mankind, which happened today.
So either way I would be half an hour or so over my 11.
This trip was doomed from the very beginning, mainly because Swift wanted to avoid some toll roads. If I had been routed on I90 from I39 and gone through Chicago down to I80 I would have had enough time going either route. And I would have avoided that accident traffic on I80.
But no, my route was I39 S to I80 E - which adds a good 45 minutes to the trip. -
That is strange. Every time that I come out of WI, they always route me all the way on 90 into Indiana. I always elect to take 39 to avoid 90.
