Hazmat, passport and TWIC cards... you'll apply for them during training. Is there a reason why you don't want to do hazmat? It's a way of getting a load when everyone else is sitting around griping about not getting any miles, and we don't pull anything too terribly bad.

I plan on getting my hazmat back again... I let it drop off about 10 years ago because the company I was with didn't haul it, plus it's not so much the regs or the background check that bothers me, it's some of the shippers & brokers who either have no idea what the laws are, or can't be bothered to load the stuff correctly and make sure the paperwork is in order.

Prime's hazmat process ensures everything is right before you hit the road. Sales is responsible for making sure that the shipper knows the requirements, and the live load folks go over the entire shipment with the driver before the wheels turn. Plus, Prime expects that the driver knows what is expected before he even pulls the load. If a shipper "can't be bothered to load the stuff correctly (you're responsible for ensuring it's right before the wheels turn) and make sure the paperwork is in order (you'll have it in hand to make sure it is before the wheels turn,)" he won't be getting Prime to pull future loads for him.

Any of you guys have experience with Prime's pet policy? How strictly do they enforce the 40lb rule, do they just ask what breed you have or something?
Not asking because I intend to break the policy, but I am looking at getting a dog, and it's not exactly easy to estimate how big it will turn out. -
How is the Pittston, PA terminal. That is where I am going for orientation on Dec. 16th.

Its brand new, well a year old anywayDWNR2 Thanks this.

If you are company I am sure they are somewhat interested in how bad that dog will tear up the truck. If you are a lease operator they really don't check much.
