That $1.00 a mile includes the fuel surcharge. He pays me $.45 a mile on all miles and I'm paid on a W-2. His truck, his dry van and his authority. I feel bad for the guy. He sold his reefer and took a 10k loss then leased his truck to a company doing linehaul. Wants to do the same to me and pay me on a 1099. I told him to find another driver.

 

Just got here... 0530 for a 0300 appointment... They said sunco called and all is good... Mclane is real busy... I'm in no rush... Hoping it take 10 hours to get unloaded!!!!

 

I think someone in planning is advertising sunco as "expedited refrigerated service"

 

I just ordered a fleet air filter and high flow muffler from Pittsburgh power... I've got to get my fuel mileage up... I'm sick of pissing money away... $600 to get 5/10 of a mile more... That's $5000 a year

 

i drove for a guy leased to fedex custom critical.... I made a boat load of money... But was alway on the road... Like 6 months straight!

I'm not trying to start a fight but I can't believe what you are saying.......you say he picks a load paying .55 a mile then adds .45 a mile (FSC) for $1.00 total .....then pays you .45 all miles (including deadhead) .......can't happen.....no matter what state you are from.......plus he pays you on a W-2 which means he pays for your social security and Medicare also........can't happen !!

Lets do the math.....

well use 1200 miles @6 mpg

he gets $1200 for the load minus 200 gallons of fuel = 1200 - 800 = 400 left....he still has to pay you $540 plus your taxes.....he's in the hole already not to mention maint, tolls, etc...

I'll say this in a nice way.....I believe you have your numbers crossed-up......or else you're working for Santa Claus....

 

.55 cpm... Sounds like a sunco load
