I stand in front of my camera naked and when I have to fart I turn around and hold my cheeks apart so they can have the best view. LOL No I don't do that but I want to

The cam is on 24/7. Mine is giving me the stink eye right now as I type this from the bunk.

High wind gusts right now in Kansas, Oklahoma. One guest hit me so strong traveling on US-75 in OK, I thought I would need a change of underwear. I would have shut down if not that I was only about 10 miles from my destination.Last edited: Nov 16, 2013

My thoughts exactly! I also think about how there is just a general lack of respect both ways between drivers and management. TransAm can not just say "Do not extend the sun visor to block the cam view" and expect to have that command respected. It is the same as with satelight messages. They can not just send one message to say " you need to add a post trip to your log" or such, and have the message respected. They have to have the redundant system so it is sent out, over and over and over again until a driver is badgered into doing what is needed.
The relationship is not so much working together as a team but "every man for himself". TransAm will do only what is in their best interest. Drivers will do the same. I have learned that much.
Yeps, I can get a feeling about who can be called to ask about rec'ving times and who can not. I got my problem resolved with a direct call to the rec'vr. I wanted to let my DM know about the new unload time so I could get an updated preplan, but I could not send a message to dispatch to tell them I had a new, earlier unload time, due to the policy that I was not supposed to be making that phone call. That is why I sent a message to my DM, but no at TA could be bothered to call. Me sitting doing nothing for 58 hours was not a problem for my DM. A driver's time is worth nothing, no problem for me to sit in a dirty truck stop parking lot for two days doing nothing while everyone in the office went home for the weekend.
I am now empty but weekend dispatch can not get me a preplan to move productive miles again until Tuesday.Last edited: Nov 16, 2013

There are some companies that fine their dispatchers if one of their drivers is under miles and coyld have been driving.
-
^ I don't think there is a fine involved, but a magic number for TransAm company drivers seems to be 2,500. If a company driver has been getting around 2,500, I think a DM feels their job is done and are not motivated to keep that driver moving.

Not sure what to think about it but when I was in the Olathe yard yesterday, there where more empty trailers than I have ever seen before. The far, double row, near to the edge of the lot was full of lined up, staged empties, maybe 150 to 200 trailers (I have never seen more than 1 or 2 odd ball trailers in that row). Other rows, while not full, had more activity than normal. -
I was told they are selling those trailers .
passport220 Thanks this. -
there seems to be an ebb and flow to all the equipment in the yard
whether it be trucks for lease and sale or trailers for sale or waiting to load
as soon as I saw too many of one or another next time was completely the opposite
the for sale 660's appear to get sold in bulk
many going to central america -
My son just went with TA 6 weeks out with no home time. he has a new baby cant get in to see it yet now thats BS and he is hung for 90 days i have never seen a trucking companie like this and i have been a OTR driver for 29 years. words to see what you all thank about this .
