Stevens sucks

my husband drives for stevens also, and is actually writing this reply. My driver manager made promies about something, that later on i found out she couldn't guarntee. She says ill be home in time for christmas. i will belive that when i am home for christmas. Your accurate in saying overloaded, its true...if they hire more driver managers, then i would have more support, but the owners would get less money,.....i guess thats the case.i will ride this year out and take my experience to another company...something local or reigonal. i know that it will be worth it if i stick it out and fulfull my contract, just real easy to get dircouraged.

 

I guess things have gone to hell there. When I drove for them 6 years ago, they were decent, I got home for Christmas no problem and when I wasn't able to get home right away, they gave me a decent run to make it worth my while. Always got re-imbursed for all my expenses.

Oh well.

 

They pay you for expences as long as you turn in the receipts. and its load related. I never had a problem with them not paying expences.

 

I have to agree I got suckered into their lease program and was spending more than I was making. Also think they screwed up my dac report

 

stevens is a terrible company ..i trained through them and i can say they do have a good training program there but they dont pay good at all and expect ya to stay out way to long.i finished my 3 weeks out with a student and then the orientation ,and then went on a bus to kentucky, got a truck ran 4 weeks and left the truck in columbus ohio..amazingly they didnt dac me ...the pay was so bad..at the end of the week..i owed them money!!..lol...what a joke..i drive for a smaller company now..but trucking is a joke, all companies are garbage no matter what anyone says..if they dont pay u good and get u home every other day...then they are a joke..yea i hear some drivers talking about how good their company is..but i know they dont honestly feel that way

 

Sadly while trucking may not have been what it was in my father and grandfathers day it still has ups and downs to it. With all the regulations, fines, etc, etc, in existance today that may not have been years ago or just not enforced as strongly it makes the industry have to change with the times, There are still good companies out there and as my grandfather always said "One mans trash is another mans treasure", some may be happy at Stevens, Knight, Swift, Werner and so on but then an equal number are probaly not. You just have to test the waters out there and find a company that works best for you and your needs and wants as a driver and always stay positive and realize sometimes its hard to always get everything you want out of life.
