Just wondering what dedicated accounts does prime have outside of wal-mart and N.E. asking because I was picking up a meat load out of New Albany Ky and there was another Prime drivier there upon my arrival after I checked in my load was ready so she approcahed me to see if my load was ready and if I was going to SC or GA on the dedicated account I told her no I was on my way to MO and that I was just an OTR company driver I didnt have an opportunity to ask her to elaborate on this account as I only had a couple hours left on my 14 and had to get going. Also ran into a driver who has been running dedicated out of MI. Are these accounts on a who you know basis or where you live, or what.... any info would be greatly appreciated or feel free to pm me btw I run reefer

    Thanks

    Where you live.

i haven't met a single Prime dedicated that didn't live on or near the end of the routes.

most of company driver dedicated I meet say it's alright, but they still only get one day off for every 7 days out and have to stay out three weeks. I don't know how it works on the Walmart account. Any other time at home other than scheduled "hometime"can be hit or miss depending on the load schedules.

they say it can be a pain if you got minor repairs or terminal only type repairs. They don't just let you deadhead to terminal. They get OTR to fill in the route and have to find a load heading to a terminal.

MI would be Yoplait out of Reed City. Search for the Walmart thread in this forum for details on that.

I ran a tyson dedicated load out of waldron, ar to harmony, pa for awhile till me and my fm had a HUGE argument...got a new FM who is awesome. He oversaw the walmart loads out of Oniely (think that's how its spelled...). Ask your FM if there's any dedicated stuff near your home area. I miss my dedicated run that's for sure.

If you dont mind me asking, how did that dedicated run work. Milage, or pay, home time? details etc on how it worked. Just wondering.

We get alot of questions around here about dedicated stuff at Prime, as of now you are the only one who has posted that was on one.

Its up to you how much detail you want to give, but can you tell us what happened with your deal with your FM?

I got ruffly 2200 miles each week. it varied some weeks, but 7 times out of 10 was around 2200. I'd get by the house sometimes just for a break, sometimes for a day and half to 2 days. Was a small tyson plant only 33min from the house. Paid regular company miles. bring home was between 850-900 a week. Took hometime like everyone else, just had to give more then 10days notice so they could cover my load.

yeah my ex fm.........every single week they 90's appt time would have to be moved because that tyson plant was always so slow. my apu was busted, 01 was late getting the load together, I only had 2 hours left on my clock so I shut her down at the 01, and took my break at home (which I did numerous times). My fm calls me while I'm onw to the truck (30mins before my 10 was finished!) and he's all flipping out yelling at me. So we got into it, he said word for word "I don't give a sh** if you get the miles our #1 priority is the customers". So I hung up on him and took off driving, he made me switch the load off to someone else and took me off the run. He's no longer my fm. I'm gonna talk with my new one after thr holidays and see if I can't get back on it. if not I'm going to Maverick and be home on weekends (they have two terminals in Arkansas and one is 20 mins from the house).

    hope that's enough info lol

oh also, I know primes got some dedicated tyson, wally world, General Mills, Cargil, Smithfield, Some hazmat place down south (or so I've heard from my Uncle who's a boss man for Airgas, says he sees lots of primes coming and going from some oil place). Talked to a handful of daycab drivers for prime in Indiana, town south of fort wayne pulling tankers, chicago pulling railcars. heard there's some flatbed dedicated stuff aswell but I never get a chance to hollar at any fb guys.

I'm on the Reed City - Yoplait lane. I live about 50 miles from there so it works out nice for hometime. Getting about 2800 to 3k miles a week steady. Those loads go primarily to Lebanon, IN or Murfreesboro, TN. We have several customers in TN with loads going right back up to Michigan so it's pretty consistent.
