So as far as flat bed instead of cranes they have winchs to get the loads on the flat bed like tow trucks? What is the pay like? is it as good as the liquid trailers which is more in demand and the better pay? I am applying at Tri Can as far as pay and benefits are they compareable to the other companies? Thanks Prairie Boy
Prairie Boy Thanks this. -
Thanks for the advice. I know I have to start from the bottom which is fine. Do you guys know what a swamper gets paid? I'm guessing it would be different from company to company.

A while back I actually applied for a job driving shuttle bus in the oil sands. $29/hour and pretty easy job. If it is a dry camp, it wouldn't be too bad Friday and Saturday nights. Otherwise, I am sure it would be quite the adventure...

Actually all the Hydraulic Fracturing companies require chest X Rays now because you will be working around silica dust. That stuff stays in your lungs for life, so they don't want to have a multi-million dollar class-action lawsuit down the road from all their employees who didn't wear dust masks.

Anyone else on here work for Schlumberger? So far I've found it to be an excellent company for training. Lots and lots of training. I am relatively new with them, though, and wondering what to expect.
