Go ABOVE your DM... also talk to O/O... It's amazing what they were able to do when we asked how to turn the truck in![]()

Things were going good for a while there, and I'm trying to get my dm's attention so he can work on this, but if I can't even get a response I might have to do that.Lady K Thanks this.

no offense , but screw your DM man. You're an o/o they can't make you shorten your time home as long as the payment is made. You can bet your ### I'll be home for Christmas and New Years and I will not be driving the Pete at all that whole week. Just my .02 worth. You guys have got to learn to stand up for yourself and not let your idiot I mean your DM run over you. That's one of the perks to being an o/o ,centrals stupid home time policy isn't worth the paper it's written on anymore. I'm with Lady K call o/os and tell them you're going to take the time off that you want or they can come get their truck. That normally tends to pull some weight since the owner op division is the only profitable part of central. Ask them they'll tell you, just about all the company drivers operate at a loss and the company makes a dang killing off of us. Trust me even they know not to bite the hand that feeds them. That's all I have for now. LoL.Lady K and Arkansas Frost Thank this.

loss? i doubt they dont make a profit or we wouldnt be here man. theres something wrong there. besides many o/o dont even finish their lease and walk so there no profit there for central.
-
dude your a o/o how you gonna let him deny it? screw that. esp if you were out for 5 months. thats crazyArkansas Frost Thanks this.

every load that that you as a company driver delivers pays central no more than 30 bucks profit, by the time you add in a few really good accidents this net profit can tank to the red real quick. The oo on the other hand absorbs all the cost of doing business for the most part so the company nets a much bigger profit per load. I would be willing to bet you my settlement that the biggest part of company drivers are operating at a loss or playing crawl out of the hole. If you really want to know the true deal call and ask Stewart in Conley or one of the people in accidents. Stewart and I just had this conversation last week. Trust me when I tell you that the oo division pulls way more than their fair share of the weight. Why do you honestly think they push for you guys to lease. And about the guys not finishing a lease, there are hardly ever any lease truck that sit unseated more than a few days. There's a fresh crop of "im a super trucker" dummies every week. LoL.. You really have to somewhat have a business plan and stick to it to make it as a oo.Arkansas Frost Thanks this.

I realize, and am on board with that. But, this was needlessly a $200 dollar week, and if I hope to get any sort of optimization out of my time on the road the planners are going to have to do a better job or be more "available." I hoping things get better in our Swift transition. I've heard Swift dispatches by sending you 3 loads to choose from. We'll see.Lastkidpicked Thanks this.

You will be in a class with non-CDL Students. You will take in class tests and a class pre-trip test and a class driving test, but you won't have to take any state tests. The 2nd week is hands on, so really only week 1 will be boring if you have it all down.

I was away from the industry for 20 years, but since I still had my CDL, I was able to take the refresher. The only difference is whether you have to take the state tests or not.clayshot Thanks this.

If you have enough intervening time, so as to be able to book a cheaper flight and can front the money; Central will give you the price of the bus ticket when you are seated on your trainer's truck. I did that and was able to get a cheap enough flight that I made money on the deal! And, it sure beats being cramped up on a bus.Lady K Thanks this.
