My bet he has a VNL630 or VNL730. I hope it is the 630.

Not has of the first of the year. The reason you still see drivers with them is that the pets are grandfathered in.

Don't let other folks opinions sway YOUR decision to run YOUR life. If you do so, it's really not YOUR life after all.

I personally, will never understand why some people make it their "mission" to constantly berate something else (in this case Swift). All the people that think they're special because they come up with "clever" acronyms for SWIFT. If you don't like a company, then why let it continue to infiltrate your life? Why not concentrate on something good for you or something?

I don't know how many people will respond calling me a recruiter. I am not. I don't want to be. I've only been at Swift since Summer of last year. I'm not some "spokesman" for them either. It's just I don't get the constant bashing of them by others.

Very very true. I see so many drivers from many different companys in Houston do some pretty scary things. Personally I treat any truck I am near like I treat a loaded gun....with extra care, and put some distance between us asap. According to trucking related accident studies, there are two types of accident prone drivers, the begining drivers (underconfident), and the drivers with over 5 years experience (Know everything, seen everything, overconfidence leads to complacency and mistakes).

This says a lot right here. And coming from a SwiftQuit insider on top of it. Sounds like you have lots of confidence in your company's training program. I can't rail on you too hard, though, as I act the very same way.

So do you stomp on the gas or do you stomp on the brakes to open up the distance? I'd usually floor it and make a pass as #### quickly as I can, especially those white and blue trucks from Phoenix.

I understand that you work for SWIFT and you think they are great, and thats good but you can not stop people from voicing their opinion. I think it's great to be able to see what everyone thinks of different companies. We just heard that SWIFT was raided dut to illegal immigrants working for them along with Shady business, is this true? I don't know but I am researching it. Why get so upset because people want to bash SWIFT, get use to it, there are people out there who they have done wrong and there are people out there who they have treated fairly but either way the people who work at SWIFT can either break the company or make it successful. People come in here to vent and it's better to do that in here then to do it on the road. Let is roll!

Actually it is a school on Swift property that was raided. And what does that prove? The problem is that the majority of people bashing Swift have not even worked for them. They hear the CB talk and jump right in. And again, there are NO PERFECT companies. EVERY company has good things and bad things. Swift obviously has not had the success it has by being a stupid company. The CB used to be a tool for safety as well as information. I can't count the number of times lately I have tried to contact a driver for Swift or one of the other companies that take a "bashing" on the CB to let them know of a safety issue and I get no response because they have turned the radio off because they are tired of the negative comments. And while you may say that the driver should have seen the item on a pre-trip, things can happen as you drive down the road.

Trucking used to be a brotherhood and everyone looked out for everyone else. Now it is full of nastiness and rude behavior. Bashing someone else's company on the CB or on sites like this only perpetuates that attitude. As Rodney King once said, "Why can't we all just get along?" We cannot all drive for the same company and it is not the company that makes a good or bad driver, it is the driver themselves. You can choose to be a truck driver and plow your way through the day, or you can choose to be a professional driver and treat others with courtesy and respect, just like you want for yourself.

And, if you have a problem with YOUR company, by all means come on here and let people know about it. BUT give the whole story, not just how bad the company was, but how did your actions affect the situation. Because, just like the fact that there are no perfect companies, there are no perfect drivers and in every situation both the company and the driver had fault in the matter escalating to the point it did.

By all means, I am not saying Swift is a perfect company. I don't get upset by what people say. I may correct, explain why, or elaborate on what people say. The purpose of this website, I believe, is to be informative, both good and bad. The problem is there is little good compared to bad on this website.

As far as the TN school, I have little information other then the fact that Swift is not under investigation. Illegal immigrants, that's a new one I have not heard yet. When the authorities finish their investigation, then we will have better detail on what it was about. For all I know (and I strongly emphasis I DO NOT KNOW), it could have been the bad guys trying to get training and a cdl.

Well said!!! I've been driving line-haul (doubles and triples) and local deliveries for the same company for 23 years. Things were different 15 years ago. I took my CB outa my truck. Couldn't turn it on because all you ever heard was a load of crap. Every company has their fair share of baffoons, slobs and morons. I see them everyday. I've heard just about every company bashed at one time or another when I used my CB. Now I just put on the Sirius and drive. I wave at the courteous drivers and just ignore the idiots.
