    Assigned routing and fuel stops.

Sometimes negotiable on rare occasions. Times like:
"the truck stop is Shut down. Shall I go up the road" are deemed viable for changing fuel stops.
Also " I can only splash 50 gallons at a time, If I do more I am overweight and will park it" Yields new fuel routings.

They are only doing what I do every morning as an Owner op @ another co.

Check for the lowest price on or very near my route and go there.

    It makes Business sense.

One other thing I do if I have a fuel stop I dont like ..

I just drive past it .. wait awhile then call my dm and tell her I forgot to stop and need a new fuel stop.. if I am within 25 miles of where I want to go that is usually the one I get....

While GTI uses a mix of all the major truck stops, with Sapp Bros in there, too, HTLD is a pilot/fj user. That may change a little out west but very minimal I would guess. I will also send a message that no fuel is needed. Hate fj on front street, i435 x57 in kc. Now that's a mouse trap!

Heartland uses a variety of all the major truck stops, including Loves as well. The fuel system will pick the best price among other factors. Keep in mind also that sometimes you might get a fuel decision when you don't necessarily need or want fuel, but the difference between fueling up now and doing it later could be as much as 30 cents per gallon or more, depending on timing and crossing into other states etc. The system is pretty sophisticated and takes time and distance into account. By saving more on fuel it allows the company to pay drivers more in the long run.

The fuel optimization system makes a lot of sense actually. I thought I would hate it and it actually works out very well, until you're super heavy, but then you can call and they can change it. It's a smart move to save money.

The routing isn't bad either. It's usually the routing I would take most times.
