The refresher and the regular class are the same class. You just don't have to take the DMV tests. So, it is just as long.

The way it was explained to me was, the refresher is $1000 with a 10 month contract, verses $3000 with it discounted if you stay 12 months. At 1 year, the total is $1500?
I didn't hear anything about an ''Anniversary Plan''. If that's accurate, heck I would have waited until after Thanksgiving! lol
I'm not really upset, I can afford the extra. My experience was all local stuff in a day cab, so this OTR stuff is all new to me.
Doulos is correct, same amount of time. Price and length of contract is the difference. -
Well stuff is changing at crsro in preparation for swift. Shops being re arranged. Guy said they're getting it ready for swift to come in and inspect it. Was told that people are training for a new dispatch system. They are at swift training for it today.

When in doubt... SCALE!! Even if they (the company) don't pay for it, $10 is less than a ticket!! It is also tax deductible O/O or Company.

I can offer a little insight into this, because I've been through it before. I was here, driving for Dick Simon when you kind folks at Central bought us. This seems similar so I'll share what happened the first time around.
1) GENERAL CHANGES: There changes I saw are changes that would have been made ANYWAY. Just general changes in the industry that were moved up when we got bought. Changes to the pet policy, transitioning to electronic logs, things like that. They were coming anyway, industry wide. Getting bought out just moved them up.
2) SPECIFIC CHANGES: We had our own method of fuel routing.
"Break 1-9. Somebody tell the Last Kid Picked if there is a truckstop between here and Barstow."
You guys brought in actual fuel routing. I had never heard of a company telling us where to fuel. Now it would feel funny not to have it.
3) SPECIFIC CHANGES: Terminals. We had the mothership in Salt Lake City (West Valley City), and drop yards all over the place. When we got bought, we mixed in with Knight a little bit, so we shared drop yards with Knight and bought the terminals in Conley and Fontana.
4) The biggest change: West Valley City. Back in the old days, the shuttle was hours late picking you up from the airport, and the dorms were like prisons. I understand that has changed a lot.Arkansas Frost, dfaf and Lady K Thank this. -
Am I understanding that Swift Transportation bought Central Refrigerated. Is there any change that is expected or not wanted. Just asking because I will be in training first part of January after retirement from the Army?
