Flying J near Cedar Rapids, IA. Pure craziness in here tonight. Two trucks hit and damaged within 10 minutes of one another. Lucky I was out of the fracas over by the scale. All this happened before 1900. Truck stops are full by 1800 it seems now. Is everybody shutting down at 1700 now these days? Dropping in Sewer City in the am, then a pp to Missouri..

At consignee in Green Bay, WI now.

Had a good lunch in Gary. Took a couple of new drivers with me over to Philly's across from the TA over by Burr street. Had the best cheese steak sandwich this side of Philly.

Spending the night at Logan in Russellville, KY. Back up to Chicago tomorrow.

There was a spectacular wreck just ahead of me on I-65 southbound this morning in north-central Indiana (mm 165 if I recall right). Reefer trailer came unhooked from its tractor after getting clipped by a container trailer alongside it. Reefer rolled all over the southbound lanes, ripping its front off and spilling its cargo of processed cheese slices all over both lanes and the shoulder. Wreckers came and pulled stuff off the shoulder so traffic could get by. I didn't have to sit too long then, since I was less than 1/4 mile from where it happened. Everyone's tire treads were full of orange cheese, it was rather entertaining.

Its a winter thing. People shut down way earlier to avoid being out in the dark and weather. Will be like that until March or so.

It gets a little better later in winter when people get more used to it though.

Sitting at the cons waiting to get unloaded. Holy bad weather. Snow and sleet in western Iowa this afternoon. Saw several cars in the ditches. Have a PP to Indiana after this load.
