It IS amazing to look back on our early posts here. I can't believe how much time has gone by! I've been with Walmart for over 4 months now. And I STILL pinch myself at times.

From your lips to God's ears. But just in case, my wife and I will pray for you too. :)

It is kind of funny too! We were both concerned about all the waiting to hear back. A touch of paranoia to say the least! LOL! :)

....but look at us now Jim. Wheeze all growed up and kicked out of the nest to fly on our own! LOL! :)

    NYVET Thanks this.

I wish there had been info like this when I was going through it. Luckily, I knew from a few other people, how long the process is, so I was prepared in that manner.

Plus, as I told my wife, it was "our turn." :)

Well, it ought to be quite a week this week. Last week was crazy. We are celebrating Thanksgiving on Wed, as my go out day is Thurs. Have a great week everyone................. off to work I go !!!

Joe, keep up in good spirits, you too muffin.

Well last week was very busy but also unproductive too. APU issues and a loose drive line bolt that I spotted when I stopped to stretch my legs. This week will be even more crazy I am sure. Luckily for me I have Turkey day off.

The 5/2 5/3 program that was offered, everyone that signed up for it turned it down. So now we are waiting to see what they are going to do with the two trucks they set for that program. Yes I turned it down because I "thought" I knew who would take it from talking with them. If they had taken the program, I would have had a shot at a full time the had posted. Sadly not the case. So now everyone is bidding on that truck and none of us will get it because another driver with more seniority has bid on it. Oh well, at least I am still on the flex.

Finally, I had to take a test yesterday before I left to come home. Random alcohol test. For everyone to know, I passed. I blew a .000! Lastly, we will have a new group of drivers starting next month, 6-7 drivers so guess you wont be the last one now Tom! As soon as they give the date I will post it. Home today, sick with my son, who is also sick. Back to work tomorrow. Be safe, be careful, and enjoy your holiday when you get to it!

I signed up for that 5/2 5/3 also. Being on a LOA, I am not able to be offered the program. Why did you (and others) turn it down? It looked like a good program, especially with the days off rotating every 2 weeks. With more drivers coming in, getting on a program or full time truck is better than slip seating every week.

Yeah, and they just posted the job opening for Sealy again yesterday, so they must need more drivers than what they just hired.

Matt, get well soon! Being sick while the baby is sick was never fun! :)

Rick, even though you did not benefit from this thread before you were hired, you have certainly contributed a lot to this and other threads to help others who came in behind you. Good job and thank you! :)

Be safe out here and feel good knowing you will be eating some delicious turkey before most everyone else. Thanksgiving is more about family and togetherness than whether it is on Wednesday or Thursday. I was planning to do the same thing as you, but being on a LOA, I will not be back to work next week, so I will just eat turkey on the regular date. It will be busy in the next week. Between Thanksgiving and my daughter's 4th birthday this Sunday, too much going on! :)
