I'd call Sam Lewis at RF Limited and see what he can do. I don't know about the Magnum 680, but I know when both my Magnum S45HP and my Magnum 257HP required repair work, it was under warranty, and they had me ship it to a gent in Carlile PA that does good work.

No problems with my 680, however I've read all the "S" series Magnums had problems with the internal amp, seems they don't get along well with anything higher than 2:1 SWR, and don't like getting hot.
Sorry can't help with CB shop in Maine.

It sounds like you could have blown the mosfet's. Mosfet's don't like heat or high SWR. Did you contact Sam Lewis yet? If not maybe you should.
