Oh that's what your pulling out of Phoenix. Never mind then, I thought that was coming out of the house. I remember when PODS paid pretty good, but it's been a long time. I'd haul out of Phoenix for that, as I would have made at least $3 going out there.

    SHC Thanks this.

Yeah, I was in and out of there pretty quick, one of our trucks was at Johnsons Corner in need of some equipment I happened to have so I beat feet pretty quick. Parked in Sheridan, WY for the night then hoping to make Post Falls tomorrow. 649 miles and only 10:45 of legal drive time minus the stupid 30 min required break.

Stopped yesterday at Whites, exit 205 on 81 in Virginia. Checked into the motel and bought my pilot car dinner. They had TWO brand new waitresses...had to break them in. Anyway, my pilot car took me to the store for an adult beverage (since most Petros don't want you to be an adult). On the way back, in the entrance of White's, a 4wheeler came up the wrong side of the road, with no lights on, and hit an oversize head on. The fire department showed up, and a full grown. Smokey was talking to the kid that was driving the car. The oversize was carrying steel beams that were hanging off the back (it was long, not wide). I've never done a long beam load, so I don't know the rules. My thoughts were, "Uhoh, drivers coming in 2 hours after sunset in Virginia, and has an accident. He may be in a bit of trouble.

The load was permitted, and the truck had the banners on. I have never pulled a long load less than 100 feet. What's the general rule for say, 7 ft overhang off the rear?
