    Good evening gentlemen:
Have recent experience with a '00 kW with 40K eight bag air ride. Traction is terrible. Occassionally have to use power divider on uneven pavement, when empty. So you know what traction is beyond that! What is ride height specs and where are measurements taken?
I like the neway suspension. It rides decent and has decent "off road" traction. Cant beat a plain 'ole walking beam suspension going off road...:biggrin_25514:

I keep hearing about 8 bag working off road, but have yet to see it, the 40000# version traction sucks beyond belief, 3 different trucks all have terrible traction. Maybe the heavier versions work better I preffer Pete Airtrac, not Airleaf Airtrac keeps the tires on the ground and doesn't hop as soon as the wheels spin.

Go to your local KW service desk, not the parts desk. Ask if they'd mind pulling up specs on ride height adjustment and printing them off. It'll be 2 or 3 pages. If not just aso them what specs are. On the rear axle you measure from the center of the axle housing (which is not the weld, it's above the weld) to the bottom of the frame rail. Find a flat level spot and check, adjust away.

call KW with vin and the can give you where to measure and how much. AG 200 was from top of axle to frame or maybe the bumper stop on side of frame rail. my IH was the airbag from top to bottom of bell. you might check your valves not sure how its plummed if you have one leveling valve but if you have two they feed one side each and you have a valve on each side that feeds the front airbag on each axle and another that feeds the rear bags on each axle. If one is not working you only have one airbag on each axle and it will pick up the load but it will not work right. If this is your setup you would rather be kicked between the legs with high heel shoes than adjust it, but it can be done.

I know a guy with a W 900A that spliced a rear clip off a Freightliner onto it so he could have the Airliner suspension along with some modern diffs.

I've had service managers give me all kinds of measurements, so I found that if I measure my frame height just over the steer axle then use that measurement to adjust the rear suspension to that same height. Works good for me and rides great.

Another vote for Peterbilt's Air Trac. Mines only a 40k with single locker and sometimes I amaze myself at the places I can get it!

Is the leveling valve mounted on the front drive? If so, it might be part of the problem?
