I have had it happen, that the computer won't let me leave, even though I had the transaction approved before pumping I have also warned other drivers at a busy stop if the truck they picked to go behind wasn't moving for some reason mechanical,or accidental, that happens, too.
I chatted with a hand this morning, he usually fueled where I do, but after the bad weather there last week, the computers were down, so all transactions were cash only. If it's bad weather, you can usually drive to somewhere else and get things working like they are supposed to. That's what he did last week.

That's when you go back out and move the truck. I've had problems with Comdata and told them I needed to move my truck and they never had a problem with me moving it and coming back in. Comdatas computers tanking isn't any excuse to block the fuel island.Numb Thanks this.

Call me cold hearted,.. but I have no sympathy for ignorance. I wouldnt be rude,.. even to guys I am still not rude when I comment that it would have been nice if they pulled up after fueling. But I'm of the opinion that common sense is not so common. If you cant be aware enough to show some courtesy for your fellow driver,.. well,.. you better have some thick skin.
HurstNight Prowler, Snowshoes and bergy Thank this. -
I hate this as well. I had a guy In Minooka,IL pilot off I-80 who was a complete jerk. He Fueled his truck and took like 15-20 min so ok. Pulled up went inside for 20 -30 min. I fueled my truck and my reefer. Came outside and looked at me and then turned around and went back inside for about 20-30 more min. I also had a guy maybe 45 min made me wait. I could not believe it. I hate that pilot so much. But in general people do this. This is why I love to be behind a day cab. Locals are always In and out and hate wasting time.

I made the mistake of pulling in behind an RV once. The other islands were all 2 - 3 trucks deep except for this lone RV. Thinking to myself,.. well you guys are idiots for waiting out there. Nope,.. I was the idiot as I sat for almost 20 mins before the guy comes back out and he had not even fueled yet!!! He's fueling and those things dont have tanks much larger than 75 - maybe 100 gallons so I know it doesnt take thank long to fuel. Yet there he is, checking his air pressure, washing all the windows, washing the windshield of the smart car on the tow bar!! 45 mins later the wife and kids come out and he finally goes back inside. I'm ready to start pulling my hair out. Were it not for the kids, I may have lost my temper and had a few choice words to say to this fellow.
biggare1980 Thanks this. -
Ha I think I'm going to start driving again just to do that. I wish I would have thought of that while I was driving.

You probably made really good money with tips back then if you did that

about a month ago at the Wilco on I-85 in Blacksburg,SC.
2 trucks ahead fueled then me guy next was still at the pump, asked if he had broken down.lol
went out to leave and here they come , 2 guys with wet heads and bags over their shoulder.
I said "ARE FREAKING KIDDING ME !!!" (didn't say freaking either).
they looked at me and said" no habla" smiling and left.
no lie, real story.
heard of it happening, but NEVER say it before, till now.
un freaking believable. -
I actually did one today that I thought was good. I was cleaning off the font of my truck while I waited, and saw the guy finally coming back to his truck after about we0 minute wait. so I turned around and started looking under his trailer. When he came back to see what I was looking at, I just smiled and said "good luck". Them watched him go park and spend the entire time I was fueling, plus about 15 minutes while I see pulled forward with nobody behind me, looking at that trailer, trying to figure out what's wrong.
Make sure the cameras can see that you dint touch his truck before you try that one
