Go to the company store and buy one of the TV mounts in there... you want to use THAT one for the next step. Go over to the detail shop, make an appointment, and have them install it. "Official holes" drilled in the truck aren't charged to the driver as damage when he turns it in.

    Voilla!

Detail shop... you do anything to the interior of that company truck that can't be reversed, and it's coming out of your paycheck.

I quess the same goes for a lease truck? And what about in your case? Once you have purchased your lease truck are you free to modify as you see fit ?

Pretty much the same for lease drivers. These trucks are turned-in around 3 years after being put in-service, and are auctioned off. Consequently they need to be as close to pristine as possible... at least from the owners point of view. Lease operators sign a contract stating that they will return the truck as it was issued, less "normal wear and tear." Everything else will be repaired charging costs against funds from the mileage escrow, emergency fund and tire escrow... after appropriate charges are deducted from those accounts. It's all swept into a final accounting, and the lease operator gets whatever is left over. I do know folks who have turned in immaculate trucks with little or no repairs required who have gotten everything from the escrow funds back to them. In my case I had $9,000 returned to me. Used about $1200 for some necessary repairs before buying my lease truck.

As an owner-op, I can modify my truck as I see fit... it's mine after all.

IP, I'm really thinking about Prime. Are these services available in Pittston? I would assume being on the east coast that's where I'll go for orientation, my training ( I'm coming in with CDL) and to be assigned a truck, or will I have to rough thru the main terminal for that kind of thing? If I'm going to be driving a LW ( and I'm 6'4 lol) I want it as homey as possible! Thanks!

There's a detail shop in Pittston now, so I assume that's the case. You'll most likely do TnT through Pittston, and you'll have your truck assigned through them as well.
