Had an offer from a company offering straight pay. Never heard of it before. I have been seeing it more lately in the Midessa craigslist section. I questioned it when it was brought up and it was stated as perfectly legal for companies that operate interstate.
Obviously this is opposite of one of the major attractions to oilfield work as readily available OT is a big selling point.
Opinions?

Once upon a time here the local companies were paying ot but now far as I can tell they all pay straight time.Alot has to do with our economy. If that company pays well for straight time I wouldn't question it.

Legal here in Indiana as well.
I was a city driver for Old Dominin and was surprised learn no overtime but requred to work 11 hours a day 5 days a week.
Normally had to work 12+ hours a day and never got any overtime pay. Till that job I thought if paid hourly, I would get overtime.
This was this last summer. -
The only reason I moved out here to work these crazy hours was because of the overtime pay. The minute that time and a half pay is no longer available and straight time is my only option is the minute I head straight for the door.
Seattle206 and 10speed55 Thank this. -
