Abilene oil field location/apartment hunting.

    Anyone know the address or exact location of the Abilene location for Sunoco Logistics? I need to start looking for apartments that are as close to the field as possible. Also, anyone know much about the area? What parts are good/bad, etc.

    How sure are you that you will be working out of that area? I think everybody interviews in Abilene, but you may wind up any number places in west TX unless they have told you specifically where you'll be working. One guy in orientation with me thought he would be working out of one yard, but ended working out of a different one. It was no big deal for him. He lived there already and both were close to his house. That might not work out as well for somebody else.

    You will have room provided during orientation and by the end of orientation, you should know for sure. My advise would be that you can look around...but dont sign any papers til your sure.

    ^^^ Same for a guy in my orientation. I told them I'd go anywhere...they put me in midland.

    Good advice. I looked at some extended stay hotels and some have decent monthly rates.

    Thats the smart thing to do... temporary plans until you know for sure. Room rates in Abilene weren't inflated at all from what I saw.....but that was in July also.

    Yea I notcied that too. VERY cheap rent. Wonder why. Some of the places look nice too. Don't know about the neighborhoods though.

    The boom is west of there. Thats also why I'm a little skeptical as to whether or not you'll actually be working out of that area.
