Overwhelmed

Do they hire in the Metro Atlanta, GA area?
I have read a lot of them, I wonder if it is worth it to apply for them...

 

before I started I did a lot of research, I went with a company very close to home and things are good for me. my final 2 choices were Luckey, where I work and Maverick. With Maverick you will be paid well, $45,000 and up, for flatbeds you will be home most weekends, glass is every 2 weeks, reefer is every week,( I think) and I am not sure with the specialized division. Their recruiters are honest, and I have talked to quite a few of their drivers and they seem happy. I have talked to a few Melton drivers who seem happy also. Oh, I have three kids and a wife and this job works for us, it does take work, but it will not ruin your family life unless you let it, its up to you. If you want to run vans, I have a good friend who runs regional with Millis and he is very happy. There are a lot of people who will tell you "you cant make money", "You won't ever get home" "this industry sucks" bla, bla, bla. It will be what you make of it, just remember to pick the right company from the start. don't forget to dedicate a day for going to a couple of truck stops, hang around the fuel lanes and ask the drivers from different companys how their job is, pay, home time, and other ? yo may have, make a list.

Yes, Atlanta is in the hiring area.

 

Some TMC drivers posted on here they make around $60K per year.

If it's between TMC or PGT, I would study the websites and see what the running areas are and what customers & type of freight they haul, then decide which is more appealing for your wants & needs.
