ok i got tied up for an hour and 45 min with a total highway closure i run a dedicated route for which the day in question normaly takes me 10 hours of drive time however i ran 11:45 i have logged it like it happened with a note and the question is am i in trouble with a log violation. i can normaly make the run in 10 hours but because a big truck decided it wanted to be upside down it shut down the high way and delayed me over my 11 but not my 14.
ran over my 11 because of an accident

no nice sunny day he prolly forgot his cruise was on and took an off ramp

I believe, if you were delayed by either weather or traffic, that were "not known at the time of your dispatch", you can run up to 2 hours over on your 11/14, in order to complete your load. Cant do it routinely, but I have used it periodically in the past due to both weather and traffic. I would call your Safety Dept to make sure you logged it properly.

i logged it like it did it and then in the remarks wrote that i was delayed noted the time and the mile marker of the accident and the total delay id realy love logsrus to comment on this one, and i did not know about this at the time of dispatch

That's the problem with the idiotic HOR, they are not practical..

You are probably OK on running over the 11 due to the accident, the 14 is another story, as long as you weren't over the 14, you should be OK.

got in just at my 14 did not relize i had ran over my 11 untill i totaled up my hours at the end of the day

just a thought, this is what i would have done: i would have logged it as on duty not driving for the hour or w/e it took to open the interstated back up and logged it in whatever city/town it was in and then put in the remarks just like u did but dont' hold me to that i could be wrong
