Co. driver or O/O?
Like many jobs it's as much what you make it as it is what the co. does.
A great place if you are a self sufficient. They won't hold your hand, you won't get a birthday card, or a baseball hat, or a tee shirt talking about what a "spirited team" they are. All you will get is a pay check every two weeks and a load every time you call in empty. You will get about as close to zero BS as you will find anywhere in the trucking industry (Assuming you know how to run & do it right)
Be ready for a lot of I-5, lumber and beverage loads in curtain vans. They also deliver a lot of counter-tops, multi drop loads with stop pay, allegedly good $$ if you can hustle.
Co drivers wages/benefits are good, talk to Bob in the office for exact details. They have co. drivers that have been there for 15 years. Co. trucks are now on elogs, I don't think the O/O's are.
I'm not sure they have many openings for co. drivers, but I could be wrong.Peteymac Thanks this. -
Thanks for the feed back boardhauler, sounds great. I talk to Bob and he told me about what you said. Looking at the o/o side of it he was telling me the average per mile rate is some ware around 1.50/mile plus fsc does that sound about right and with the numbers Bob gave me you almost have to get your own trailer cause the trailer rent at 11% is a lot
