Well that's definitely a good point of view. I have read a lot about that and they did have problems but said since they solved it in last couple years. I have done tons of research and very rarely hear problems or complaints about Volvo compared to FLiner and other brands. I haven't had a chance to drive one (Volvo) as no one near has any on lots. Heard their pretty good on fuel ?? Hope your having a Happy Thanksgiving and really appreciate all your input. I have to decide within 2 weeks.

Thanks, I'm so torn in between 13 or Ishift. Now whats advantage of smaller wheel base.......is it the weight and areo reasons why they make different? That's what I haven't had explained. Happy Thanksgiving.

Cluck recommended a 255 wb not a 227. 227 would be too short for a reefer hauler. The shorter the wheelbase the tighter the turning radius, the longer the wheelbase the better the ride. You try to have a happy medium and still be able to slide the fifth wheel close enough to close the gap. I'd be in the 237-240 range pulling reefer. You will lose a little bit of weight for every inch of frame you don't have but it's not substantial.

Thanks exactly what i thought . Just needed reassured. Now I need to get idea of weight with duel 150 Gal. Tanks. An idea cause one of my local shippers I have set up with only let's anyone haul a certain weight or they won't load ya. Not like heavy load but a local contact when needed way out. Thanks a lot for your input. Happy Thanksgiving.

227 WB is too short for a truck with a 77" bunk.
GITRDUN45 Thanks this. -
If weight is a big issue maybe drop down to a 670

My dad's is sitting at 7.3mpg and he runs 70mph. Like I said he likes it but he also doesn't have to pay for the transmission if it decides to die. It also has a performance/economy button. If it's in performance it will go through every gear and run the rpms higher. If it's in economy it will go 4th 6th 7th 9th and 12th. The economy helps the fuel if you're empty or light.
