My co-driver just got a ticket for no seatbelt, coupled with a level 3 inspection and a written warning for improper lane use.
Driving now for another company.
She was wearing seatbelt, just had slack in it for comfort and he didn't see it.
Looks like 13 points and multiply by 3 first year for 39 total on CSA.
Does anyone know how many CSA points Schneider will allow before they disqualify an IC from hiring a co-driver ????
I'm not staying if she's not here too.
Just got badd news..... CSA points for co-driver

39 isn't a huge amount. She should be ok.
-
Sorry, I don't buy it. I see way too many drivers out there without seat belts, and I'm willing to bet that she didn't have hers on either. 'Slack for comfort' would have made the belt EASIER to see, not harder.
And if she'd been in the correct lane to begin with, she wouldn't have attracted any attention. Both of those things are 100% in the driver's control. No sympathy.
I can't speak for Schneider's policies, but it really irks me that there are GOOD drivers out here that care about their jobs and work hard to pay attention and do things properly who are having to compete for jobs with folks like her that don't follow the law (improper lane usage) and thus make things harder for everyone.
I'm off my soapbox now. -
I take it you are female. Yes?
-
Negative. Why do you ask?
-
You are a guy? Ok, now I understand. Sorry to have made the wrong assumption.

Well said... well said!!
We all make mistakes, but I am the kinda guy that tries not to give ANY chance to get pulled over. - Unfortunatelly the regulations and tough laws are being aproved every day because of "distracteds" drivers. On top of all that, there is a lawyer around here that his TV advertisements are all about Big Trucks, and he says "One call, that's all"... I hate that MF... But, it is our responsability to be the best and professional Driver ALWAYS!windsmith Thanks this. -
First of all, let me say thanks for your reply.... even though it is filled with inaccurate info and assumption.
Yes, the seatbelt was indeed "slack" but being worn.
She was in town, and crossed center line of 4 lane street due to crap in the gutter of her lane. Not that it matters cause cop was already behind her.... he "saw the seatbelt infraction" while sitting in a street median when she passed him.
I'd put her Two Years OTR against ANY driver out there for skill and ability, so you can stick it.
She stays on MY case all the time about stuff.
I asked a pointed question about CSA points, not for some single year ROOKIE wheel-holder to insult my integrity by impeaching the accuracy of what I posted... OR to preach about how much greater than everyone else they are.
You can keep your opinions to yourself.
BTW - I was a Paramedic/FF... and I "HAVE" unbuckled dead bodies. So the whole seatbelt use issue is not up for debate with me.ipogsd, L84AD8 and Captain Call Thank this. -
You should be ok with only one vioslation. Companies are holding csa less and less important though since they are seeing it's flaws. I hope I dont get that ticket, I wear mind with slack in it all the time.

Easy turbo.
You havn't been around here long just let that comment go.
I'd have you co-driver get an attorney and fight the violation if she really was wearing her seatbelt and the officer wrote it up fight it! seatbelt violations are frowned upon anywhere although they've got nothing to do with the safety of others just the driver. I'm surprised they don't give us points for wearing one with some of the crap I've seen and heard.
that's my suggestion it's not many points on her PSP but it is something that should be fought. A lawyer is going to charge a pretty penny to do that but it can mean the difference between insurance, etc in the future so that may be the best option. Good luck with everything.
