Well with the key in the on or acc position the brake lights work some times but hears the kicker with the key in the off position they work fine?? OK i'm stumped.
    any ideas please post.

other problems I can live with.
ESC on the display and triangle seem to be permanently on flashing from time to time.
the eight square lights four to the right and left of the display don't work.
the four gauges on the right seem to get tired and shut off every now and then but usually come back on within a few minutes.

any questions please ask as the brake lights are pretty important to me and those behind me.
    thanks A.J.

It is actually a rather complicated brake switch and circuit. The switch has a zener diode and resistor in it. The circuit works differently between key on and key off. It is probably the switch, but you should have someone hook up to it to see what input voltages the body controller is seeing.

I believe it is buried behind the cluster in the dash.
