I have been driving for about two years now and it has been all oil field. I was told that the of duty well site was removed and they were trying to remove the 24 hour restart and make it 34 hours like everyone else. Now I know when I mentioned ten hours off between working I was told oil field is exempt and we stayed out till the "job is done" when one pusher mentioned we are considered short haul, I asked what about the max 12 off 10 with one 24 hour restart every seven days, he didn't have a response other than oil field exemption. Someone else brought up the elog issue and once again, you guessed it. So ate there any drivers here with a bit more time under the wheel that can clear this stuff up?
some info please

Try reading the rules in the little green FMCSA book on HOS..I'm sure your answer is in there..395..or something like that.

Exemption?... from FMCSA?... I don't think so.

There are oilfield exemptions. They are not anywhere near what this guy is being told, but there are some exemptions. Take a look around here ----> http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/rules-regulations/administration/fmcsr/fmcsrruletext.aspx?reg=395.1ironmule, Big Duker and Big Red Pete Thank this.

14 on 10 off 24 reset. off duty on well site split only apply's to very few oil field drivers. such as pump truck drivers or hot oilers.
