Nope, TransAm doesnt have a refresher. Talked to a recruiter about it whrn I was inquiring about bringing my hubby on as a team driver.

Oh well thanks. I checked a few that does but none in Florida unless in the panhandle further than where I am moving. I guess I have to start all over. After 7 years a lot seems to have changed anyways.

Last Friday, then again this past Friday, my DM has made a point to call me and confirm my weekend preplan. As if letting me know she has done her job and I was taken care of, with miles to run, until she returned on Monday. A good thing and I give credit. Is this a new TransAm policy are others getting the same type phone call?

Apparently not, because Im still in Rockwall!
I did, however, manage to earn enough points to buy myself a Burton from dragging this truck into the shop. Ended up having the two blown axle gaskets fixed, got two new drive tires, and all new pads and drums on the drive axles. TransAm coukd havr done all that at the terminal for the cost of parts if they'd just gottrn me to Olathe like they were supposed to. Instead, I went looking for every penny I could get them to cough up. And I got a Burton and two showers, LOL.passport220 and HometimeQueen Thank this. -
I always liked Rockwall. I guess thats because that is where I did orientation.

Well, I have to say one thing about TransAm's recruiters; it's clear where their energy is put. The woman I talked to strongly denied that she gets paid more for bringing a L/O on board, but she didn't even want to talk to me about being a company driver. Even with a permanent pay rate (except for those ever-present "bonuses," of course) of 30 cpm, I haven't heard from her in over a week.
Recruiters from two other companies have called several times. Pity. I like their equipment.Last edited: Dec 3, 2013

Good evening everyone. It sure has been quiet on here this week. How are you doing, passport? Have your weekend preplans worked out with no interference from weekend dispatch? I don't know if TransAm has a new policy or not, if so I haven't heard anything about it. What I do know is that a few years back I did a little experiment to see if the powers that be ever paid attention to this forum and this thread. I was always fairly judicious in the things that I said that might tell someone who I was but I did really sound off about something that was way out of line and I named names. Lo and behold a few weeks later there was a major change ....and it was done in such a way that I knew they had been reading this thread. Don't know if that is what happened or not .....but who cares if they don't like what they read about themselves... so long as the changes have been better for you!

^ Hiya HTQ. Things are good here. Knock wood, I have never really had problems with weekend dispatch like others have complained about. Overall I like, have confidence in and get along fine with both my primary and secondary (evening) dispatcher. I rarely have any contact with overnight, weekend dispatch.
I always try to run the miles in my runs early. Meaning if I have a 900 mile or so, two day run, I will try to get in 600+ miles in on the first day. On the weekends, this tends to get you out of the swap zones. Places where weekend dispatch needs to make swaps or change preplans so they can get on time delivery for Monday morning.
The phone call to confirm I have a weekend preplan could be a response to my posts here. However, from the pace and tone of the phone call. I had the feeling my DM was just going down a list and calling all of her drivers. But, yeah. I would make sense that someone from TA would keep an eye on this thread. It is the information age and I would think it is a VERY small percentage of new drivers who do not check out a company online before making an employment decision. Someone must be in charge of managing TA's online presence.HometimeQueen Thanks this. -
It's all about controlling the message. You can bet "somebody" is reading and making decisions.
