trucking is good. but i mean sometimes its like why did I go to school and then not make it into my health care career and go drive. at least this job im offered is the next best thing. but i mean relocating is a problem sometimes. i can relocate though. at the same time driving is a good job. esp if you are o/o. working the rails here i know people that make 2-3 k a week after fuel. doesnt mean I will be as successful as they are but I always have hope. so many people who see me tell me I dont look nothing like a truck driver. Many people say I look like a college student or a guy who works in a office. Which I did just graduate recently from college. So its like I wonder if this for me or not. Not to mention my dad a trucker for 17 years really hates that im driving after I went to school.

Your father walked his own path and now you have to walk yours. There is a stigma associated with driving, that you only do it if you are too dumb to do something better, don't let it get to you if you enjoy driving.

I completely agree with Chinatown about trying to get that balance between money and doing what you really enjoy, but you have the luxury of youth. If it is something you think you might also enjoy you can try it and if you miss driving too much you can always go back. If you know from the get go that it's something you don't like and are considering it only because of the money or to please somebody else then I would forget it. You will probably end up miserable if you go that way for the money only.

One option is to relocate to Las Vegas with the new wife and job, then have a backup plan if it becomes intolerable. There's some good trucking jobs around Las Vegas and they're not all OTR. If the need arises, you can transition back to trucking without another relocation & remain in Las Vegas. Houses are cheap there & rent is so-so. Check the Redfin website if you eventually must find your own place to live there. I can introduce you to a realestate agent than can help with either purchase or rental. She helped us buy our home there early this year when we relocated our residence from the East Coast. Either way, you're in a good position with the degree in healthcare and the CDL.

Contact the Nevada DMV and asked what they require. Some states it's simple. I kept my TN license but when I renew I'll switch to Nevada, but I don't know the procedure yet. Can't help with an answer because right now I'm kicked back relaxing overseas.
