Actually useful tarp folding videos on Youtube. . . Zero!
Ok, maybe there's one somewhere, but after the 10th or so I gave up. They were just TURD filled!

If I got room, I move my tarps to the back of the trailer and once unloaded, fold my tarps on the trailer. This saves alot of bending over and keeps my tarps little cleaner.
Though I have a step vs a flat. Might not be possible with a flat. -
Nope....I have, at times, done that very thing on my flat. Especially when it's windy and I need to bungee assist fold them and I can't do it inside or on the downwind side of a building.
Another time I'll do it is if I am unloading inside, especially when backed into a bay. I untarp/unstrap/unchain and then get the tarp out of the way....then once all the cargo is out of the way, I'll pull the tarp back onto the trailer and fold it as necessary.

I've seen this approach from about the same point you did. From what I was able to catch while folding my own tarps, this guy used sections of rope on each lower corner D-ring. He tied one end to the rub rail, stretched it out width wise along the rub rail, tied the second corner, pulled the other two corners out, then untied the D-rings, then fold. Viola! I'm sure I missed some secret steps because I was distracted by what I was doing (bend bend bend bend bend).
Maybe I'm too set in my ways-I tried to figure it out and ended up spending more time than doing it the regular old fashioned way. But it always takes me longer because I can't just fold it, it has to be perfect so when I unfold it later it drapes across the load like fine linen on the dinner table. Yes. I do have flatbedders OCD.Naptown Thanks this. -
Sounds like it might work well if just used the hooks to hold the corners to the trailer while stretching it out. I can't imagine the extra time to tie them on.
I might have to give that a try the next time. -
There are flatbed companies that rarely if ever tarp.

I had an old flatbed driver tell me about this method of folding his tarps once. Like you he had already finished and didn't get to show me. Its worth researching I have no doubt according to his explanation as to how much work it cut out.

My biggest gripe is always the tarps. Not sure which is worse,.. folding in 20 - 30 mph wind gusts or covering an 11.1 ft tall load on a step deck under the same conditions.
Fortunately for me, my loads are typically a 50/50 mix of tarped loads and equipment that doesnt need to be tarped.
I have looked at the curtains and thought wow that would be nice right about now,.. but then realized no more over sized loads or the pay that comes with them.

FastTrack has a rolling tarp system that you can get a run open option on so that you can take oversized loads.
