You would think, I actually pulls slightly better loaded than empty and I am not sure why. When I am empty - 54000 lbs - it really seems sluggish. Maybe it's just me coming from a cat but I was hoping for more.

I am looking for a load around 60-65k to see how slow/sluggish it runs.

Passed an ATS blade truck (empty) on my way home from work this afternoon in twin cities, must have been headed back to St Cloud.

Forgot to ask, were you in the twin cities in the last 1-2 weeks headed west on 694?

That's strange it won't pull. 3.90 has plenty of bottom end but just enough top end to get some decent road speed. This Pete is going to get 3.90 put in it after the first of the year and put up on 24.5 tall rubber.

Maybe I am running at too low and rpm and just can never get up into the higher horsepower range? I have been running it at around 1400-1500 in 9 direct. Maybe I should drop down to 8 over see if that helps running it at 1700 rpms but that seems pretty high.

Glad to hear you made it back home, hopefully your trip back north was uneventful other than feeling like crap. Get to feeling better so you can put some miles on them trailers, and take care of my old stuff.

    Cluck Cluck Thanks this.

The only problem I see revving that high is your fuel mileage is going to go in the toilet I would think that 1500 should be in the power band but having never ran a D16 I really don't kno. This one has a 600 cummins 18 spd and 3.36's it cruises 75 at 1450 in high gear and really I only have to thumb it back a gear to pull a hill. I suppose I'll really find out when I put that 85k reel on it.
