Can't help much with training at Conley... I went to Fontana... But the terminal isn't bad. Figure it could be worse :) we go there for our quarterly safety meetings.

I'm still around and doing well. 20 hours short of my required 200 and 4 days short of my 28.

Tangerine, I was just in Reno area a couple times a couple days ago. Donners pass was easy over and back to Reno but then we went South on the 395 to Phoenix and that was harder, the weather was just blowing in,heavy on the blowing part. Had big wind, rain, snow, ice and dust storms all in about 4 hrs.

    tangerineGT Thanks this.

Oh wait... That was just yesterday lol. On the way to Fontana from Phoenix now, then Illinois again. I still haven't been to the East coast or the Deep South yet but am hoping to soon.

Keep it as limited as possible. You'll be carrying everything and once you get to a truck there is extremely limited space. Rather than bring a sleeping bag that you won't use as long as you are in a hotel and have to pack it while traveling via greyhound I waited until I needed one then picked itup at WalMart for less than $20. They'll give you a checklist of things which is very thorough and is probably more than you will need. I take blood pressure meds and didn't bring enough so I had to deal with that, but you'll find that getting to a walmart is not too difficult. Bring $, more than the recommended 200 and then live as frugally as possible.

Expect that you'll be gone 2 months and dedicate yourself to working and learning and not having free or fun time. I went in with the idea that it was gonna be like boot camp. Naturally it's not that origin but if you have a mindset that you're there to better yourself and hopefully make a great impression during what is like a 6 week job interview the rest will fall in line nicely. Avoid the groups of people who are always screwing around. If you can, find a person or two you feel some comraderie with and quietly go about your business alone or with them. It's an opportunity for a career, a real life changer. Take it seriously and give it all you've got. Call your family when you can. Tell your friends you'll talk to them in a couple months when you return home for the first time driving your own big rig. Until then, you have work to do. With that attitude you'll excel.
