I have the opportunity to buy an 05 Pete 387, with a 13speed and a cat C15. Truck was well maintained by another O/O who wanted to upgrade to a CRAB compliant truck. I don't run commiefornia so it doesn't bother me. Truck has a little over a million miles on ait with a rebuild approx 150,000 miles ago. Brand new transmission being put in as I speak. And a fresh paint job when all work is done. Virgin rubber all the way around. New brakes all the way around and comes with a 90 day unlimited warranty. Price is 32k with 0 down and payments around 7-800 a month. Does this sound like a good deal?

Personaly i wouldn't spend that kind of cash on a truck that has that many miles. Yes the engine and trans may be in good shape, but what about diffs, drive train, steering, electrical, air systems, interior...etc. The rest of the truck still has over a million

    MoneyCat Thanks this.

Me personally i wouldn't spend 32 on a trk with over million miles if u look in books the have trucks with over million miles 25k and below just like that trk it have new things done to it. I been researching it Im getting ready to buy a Pete 387 also. I would offer less. It's like richter said there are other components on truck that have over a million miles. U say the engine got 150000 miles on it u no everybody drive different.

Somewhat. It's coming from peterbuilt in pheniox, az. But company is financing for me. Doesn't have to be this truck. I can pick from any truck anywhere in the country as long as I keep it under 100k. They just told me about this one because it belonged to one of their O/O and was just traded in to peterbuilt for a 2014 587. Peterbuilt is going to be asking 26k for it once repairs are complete. The other 6k is finance charges. I talked to them a few min ago they said they would drop to 29k. So its 26k for the truck and 3k in finance charges.

What kind of fuel mileage are you hoping for? This set up might get you 6 if your lucky and probably more like 5.5. The million plus miles it has on it would be a non starter as well. I was looking on truckpaper last night and saw a '99 FLD with 600k miles and a Detroit for $12,000. I would be way more interested in that truck then the '05 pete your looking at.

20000- 25000 is what i have found for a trk with million miles and if u got them down to 26000 that's pretty fair but before u leave with that truck go thru it with fine tooth comb find anything wrong u can

    i know 2 guys that bought 07 petes with 600k for $45G.

an 05 pete with a million miles probably goes for 25. but with a rebuilt motor and new trans. that HAS to add SOME value.

2 years ago. when i was looking. that same year was selling for $35G +. close to a million miles WITHOUT rebuilt motor or trans.

but now that carb compliance is an issue. that plays a big part in value of a truck.
