    Hi Silverdrifter,

Your accomplishments are absolutely and positively amazing! Keep up the good work!

SUGGESTION, WAIT ANOTHER YEAR OR SO FOR 4 THESE REASONS:
    1) TRY to take off at least an additional 100 lbs. as not to risk having to worry about going into a company's sleep apnea program. Once you are assigned a sleep machine, you are stuck with it FOREVER.

    2) Body Mass Indexing, (BMI), may becoming more prevalent either by DOT and / or insurance company regulations. The less weight or body mass you have, the greater your chances are of becoming and staying on as a truck driver.

    3) If there are any illicit substances whatsoever in your body, the extra weight loss will help you to get rid of them. There cannot be any doubt whatsoever as to whether or not you are clean from the get go.

    4) In addition to staying away from drugs, you may want to stay away from tobacco altogether, that is if you are a smoker. While smoking may be legal, it is much more costly to have you insured for both medical and life insurance, due to the serious health risks involved.

Try to stay as physically fit as possible along with maintaining a CLEAN driving record, and stay out of trouble with both the law and all other people in general. Learn about and practice good nutrition.

    Good luck to you!

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

funny isn't it? truck driving is one of the few careers that require one to maintain such a "proper" lifestyle. yet it is by default a career where maintaining that life style is very hard.

Theres the problem....you can't say that knowingly breaking the law is a MISTAKE..... it's A CHOICE......A freaking CHOICE.....stupid & dumb yes...but not a mistake no matter how old you are. If you make the choice to burn one , then you are potentially burning your future up along with the joint...GEEZZZZ I wish folks could get this through their heads.......

Yeah definitely becareful about the BMI %. I went in to renew my DOT Card last week and the Doc had told me that next year that DOT standards will required drivers to have a BMI of no more then 35% or a 17" neck line.

LOL...if this really is true, I know a LOT of drivers are gonna be put out work.
