Yes, Boys and girls I did make a change.
I'm now signed on with Bennett..
There were 3 of us Sammons guys that came over. Plus the 2 others that came over 2 weeks ago.
Right now there are 4 former Sammons 4 axle trucks here. A while back I had posted about some of our key heavy haul people leaving. This is where they came to. Bennett offered a pretty big carrot in our face to come over and so far I have been able to reach at that carrot and eat part of it so to speak.
Funny thing is there are people here with them in the main office that were old It/ Schiender H.H. and Gasp old Heavy Haul people with Trism.. These people know me and some of the guys that have come over so far.
So only time will tell, But I was done with Sammons after some of the changes that has happened there.
I did give them my official I'm outa here email and the phone was ringing off the dash..Logan76, MJ1657, Oscar the KW and 1 other person Thank this. -
City of Commerce,ca... Got up at 2am to run the last 440 miles to offload by 1 pm and got here an hour early... but by the time I was unloaded I had just enough time on the 14 to drive to the shippers and sleep on the street... not ideal by any means but its quiet and another one of our trucks just pulled up for the night so at least I'm not the only one here

Please share how you managed to get out of there that cheap??????Logan76 Thanks this.

I hope their big freight pays well. They are posting a lot of freight out of my neck of the woods. I have a pretty good idea of where their rates would need to be to get the freight they are posting. Let's just say I hope you don't have to haul any 40K lbs freight, or you may not be able to afford your ticket to Thailand next year.

Yes, I kinda got that feeling. I have not got logged into their ld. board yet. Been a kinda long week with all involved.
Plus I need to hook to the trl they issued me and go over it. I kinda got a feeling it's going to be a heavy pig.
They said right now this is the only trl. like I asked for that is ready.
They have a 3x3x3 sitting here and they kinda joked about giving me that trl. I said I will just finish going home.
They saw no humor in that comment. I said I'm not qualified for that kind trl. They said you owned one that we know. Opps.
Like I said only time will tell. -
I really hope none of the rest of you are fighting this ice storm in Texas. 500 miles today and all but 80 were on solid ice.

My wife doesn't let me have a debit card, lol!
I just bought a new "hot seat" and a bipod.
I was eyeing up a new .204 ruger...that will be my birthday present to myself.

35 north of San Antonio is absolutely horrendous almost all the way to the Oklahoma line. What I will usually do is leave Laredo at 8 PM. No traffic incidents and you can make the Oklahoma/Kansas line in 11 hours. That puts you 570 miles or so out of davenport (I'd rather pay the Kansas turnpike instead of going up through us69 through Big Cabin). Leave Wednesday night and deliver 0900 Friday morning, and still have time to reload for the weekend.
I've never stopped in Austin, outside of sitting in a billion and one traffic jams, but on that cooking channel, they always show these places in Austin to get food. I'm a single guy, so I eat out a lot. And I do get tired of eating out. If there's a place that serves something different, I'm there!
(Thinking out loud)On that cooking channel, they had this show about food trucks that serve 1 off specialty foods. This one truck was showing how they made this dish with seasoned and slow cooked duck, Bree cheese and other stuff in a tortilla or something. Hurt me, will ya? I find myself thinking, "I wonder what beer would go with that?"
Thats the other weakness...beer. I love beer. LOVE IT! Especially with good food. Went to this German joint in Vegas a few years back. They had one of those German bands playing...you know with the nut hugger shorts, suspenders, and the little hats. The waitresses wore that st paulie girl outfit. They would put these big tankards of German beer in front of you. The beers were $9 each. Man, talk about feeling good!
hmmm...I think I will run to Baytown Seafood for lunch.milskired, dannythetrucker and Ruthless Thank this.
